I have finally given up on the complexity of ZClasses.... So, nowI am porting my ZClasses to Python Classes.. Here is the rub: How do I get the Python Class to recognize DTML Methods I have a DTML method called "getDate" and I *assume* that I call it from inside the Python class with something like: getDate = HTMLFile('dtml/getDate', globals()) but when I try to use this, "'getDate' is not defined" is what is returned from Zope.... So, how does one include DTML Methods, PythonScripts, etc.... as methods in Python Classes? I have been looking and looking for some sort of example, but I can seem to find one.... TIA WPH

Ok, object is /site_staging/portal_skins/DEFAULT/testpath.html When invoking it using http://myserver/site_staging/testpath.html <http://myserver/site_staging/testpath.html> (so I use CMF skins traversal with implicit skin=default) aq_parent(self).id returns site_staging, which looks ok to me. And getPhysicalPath() will return : '','site_staging','testpath.html' But I really need (for some complicated to explain reasons) to get the full physical path of the object. So something returning : '','site_staging','portal_skins','DEFAULT','testpath.html' portal_skins is a CMF Skins Tool. I am sure it implements ObjectManager, but I don't think it implements Folder. Problem with PTS 1.0rc8 and ZEO (Without Plone)

Hello, I have a Zope 2.7.x with CMF and PTS. I used to have 2.7.0 with CMF 1.4.2 and PTS 1.0fork-rc7 and everything went well. This had 1 Zope instance as a client to one ZEO instance. I upgraded to Zope 2.7.2 with CMF 1.4.7 and PTS 1.0rc8. When I firsts did the upgrade I still had 1 Zope ZEO client. I now have 2. Both instances do client side persistent caching using the .zec files. Now, for some bizarre reason, when the start restarts over night, the french side (The "other" language, default being english) stop being in french and switches back to the default language. It's as if PTS no longer detects or implements the translation. There are no errors logged anywhere that I can see, just my FS based, 18n enabled CMF skins always in english, even in the french side of things. The only way I've found to fix this is to shut down the 2 clients, clear the ZEO client cache by deleting the files, and then restarting. Once this is done, multilingual support is back to normal. One obvious simple solution would probably be to turn off the persistent client cache, but I'd really rather not to do that. I DID see in the log: event.log:2004-08-24T16:23:04 INFO(0) PlacelessTranslationService outdated translation service found, recreating Which is good! When this happened, I was still dealing with a one-to-one client-server Zope/ZEO relationship. I have other copis of the same site without using Zeo (Dev. environments and so on) where this problem does not occur. Saw no bugs about it on sf.net/projects/collective. Anybody have any idea what's going on? Did the PTS suddenly become non ZEO compatible? How can that even be? Any help or insight would be appreciated ... Anybody else run into this? import/export errors

Having exported a ZEXP file from one Zope instance (Zope 2.7.2, Python 2.3.3), I get the following error when trying to import the ZEXP into another Zope instance (Zope 2.6.2, Python 2.1.3). I've never before seen this error, and I'm wondering if anyone can help. Python equivalent to PythonScript context binding?

my python class method cannot seem to find any bindings- container, context, etc... Do I have to do something to help the class find these bindings? (Bear with me, I am weening off of ZClasses and DTML....) TIA WPH

If you are going to use python classes, then you had better define your PythonScripts inside your class. Finally, two advices: 1) try to use ZPT instead of DTML. The first one is better since content and logic separation is clearer. 2) give a better subject to your messages. Doing that will assure that more people read them and it will also make easier to other people having similar problems find them. Refreshing ZClass Products

Hi All, I used to update my productionserver by importing my ZClass products and flushing the cache of the zope instance. Currently I switched to Zope 2.7 and it looks like the flush method doesn't work anymore and I have to use the reboot function nowadays to update my products. Can I refresh my products without restarting the zope instance? Greetings Ralph
