[Warning] Strange mountpoint behaviour

I strugged today with a strange mounting problem: A colleague wanted to mount a storage under path "a" which has been formerly created while mounted under a path "b". Result: unless "a" and "b" are equal, the mounted object under "a" was empty. The analysis lead to http://collector.zope.org/Zope/1487 The mount-point documentation in "Zope/Startup/zopeschema.xml" is incomplete. The implemented behaviour unintuitive. You want to use "mount-point" specifications of the form "virtual_path:real_path" and not "path" (as the documentation suggests). -- Dieter

Zsql and dtml --- newbie

I am have trouble understanding how this should work. I have a form that has dynamic fields on it. the number and name are variable. I would like to store these in a working table in a database. The table has two fields and I have a ZSQL method to update the database : select add_key_working('<dtml-var expr="_.SecurityGetUser().getUserName()">', <dtml-sqlvar key type="string">, <dtml-sqlvar value type="string">); I try this and it does not work <dtml-if submit>  <dtml-in "REQUEST.form.items()" sort> <dtml-call "SAS.queries.add_key_working(key=<dtml-var sequence-key),value=<dtml-var sequence-item>> </dtml-in> </dtml-if> it is not valid DTML How do I get the values into the query. Yeah, I know.... I moved my product from Windows to Linux... and the globals() parameter used in Globals.DTMLFile is still using my Windows setup to determine the Path for my Zope Products DTML resources. How do I get Zope to update this global and look at the linux filesystem. The usage of the DTMLFile calls for a relative folder definition, which I have, it's "base" path is defined by Zope. TALs difficulties

Hi, I need help :-) I'm trying to implement a new Widget for Archetypes. So I have to write TAL (not my favorite hobby). I'm extending the multi select widget with optgroup labels. But I can figure out how to make the <option> contained by the <optgroup> without breaking the XML code. And I don't want to change the data format that's used (which is a sub classed version of Archetypes DisplayList that can mark items as optgroup labels, indicated with a true value from isLabel). Here's what I've settled for so far: vocab is the DisplayList derivative (item is a key). <tal:loop repeat="item vocab"> <optgroup tal:attributes="label python:vocab.getValue(item);" tal:condition="python:vocab.isLabel(item)"> </optgroup> <option selected="" tal:condition="not:python:vocab.isLabel(item)" tal:attributes="value item; selected python:test(here.unicodeTestIn(item, value), 'selected', None);" tal:content="python: vocab.getValue(item)"/> </tal:loop> Returns something like this: <optgroup label="A"></optgroup> <option>Ada</option> <option>Ape</option> <optgroup label="B"></optgroup> <option>Bananas</option> <option>Buffy</option> What I want is: <optgroup label="A"> <option>Ada</option> <option>Ape</option> </optgroup> <optgroup label="B"> <option>Bananas</option> <option>Buffy</option> </optgroup> Which renders quite differently. Changing the owner of /folder (and there by all the others) to viewer lets viewer access title_or_id. title_or_id is published with __allow_access_to_unprotected_subobjects__ in SimpleItem:Item. It seems like the owner of an object with "unprotected subobjects" needs to have View permission for the "unprotected subobjects" to be accessable to the world. Methods declared __allow_access_to_unprotected_subobjects__ is very similare to being declared public I guess? Cheers, Johan Carlsson

Hi. I'm not sure if this is a zope question, but... I have a client who is insisting on being able to enter numeric data into an HTML form (dtml-method in this case) using commas or not: 9999.00 or 9,999.00 I can output float information from the database ok, using the thousands_commas directive, however input and submission of a form using commas causes an error. I've even tried to strip commas in the ZSQL Method update statement: UPDATE ... total_area=TRIM(',' FROM <dtml-sqlvar total_area type=float>), ... but that does not seem to work either. Any suggestion on how to allow this behavior? BTW, this is legacy DTML. I cannot use ZPT here easily. Fantastic Count. Thanks! I was struggling to place the python string.replace function directly in the dtml-var tag, and having the usual dtml syntax problems. Here's what ended up working, for both input and output, allowing the use of commas for data entry, or not: <form name="myForm: method="post" action="updateForm"> <input type="text" name="total_area:float" value="<dtml-var total_area thousands_commas null=0.00> ...Submit </form> and in dtml method updateForm <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('total_area', _.string.replace(total_area,',',''))"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('total_area', _.float(total_area))">  <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.redirect('.')"> The first two line are really the relevant ones. preseve status of dtml-tree

Hi! I have a single page (should be no frames) with a dtml-tree. There are plenty of links on this page to itself, with different arguments. My question is how to preserve the status of dtml-tree, because now it is lost after invoking the page again by such a link. I know that dtml-tree is deprecated, but it has the ability to build itself from a query, and I have not found this in ZopeTree, that's the only reason I'm still using it. tnx Lac
