ZCTextIndex question
by Small Business Services 18 Jun '04

18 Jun '04

I am trying to get to the contents of '_docwords' which is stored in ZCTextIndex using an external method. I have been trying to use the 'getEntryForObject' method of the ZCTextIndex zclass, but have been unable to determine the proper python code (i'm a python newbie) to gain access to this method in the proper context. Ideally I would like to have a dtml method: <dtml-in "Catalog({'id' : recid})"> ZCTextIndex words= <dtml-var "getwords(data_record_id_)"> </dtml-in> and an external method (getwords): from Products.ZCTextIndex.ZCTextIndex import ZCTextIndex def getwords(self, rid): return self.Catalog.ZCTextIndex.getEntryForObject(rid) But this causes a zope runtime error (AttributeError: ZCTextIndex) Any idea what I am doing wrong? Is there a better way to get at the '_docwords' list in ZCTextIndex? Thanks, Jonathan

To boldly go where no one has gone before. Except for the young or very happy, I can't say I am sorry for anyone who dies. The real history of consciousness starts with one's first lie. By doing just a little every day, I can gradually let the task completely overwhelm me. Death may be the greatest of all human blessings. I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor. All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them. [Matthew 7:12] If life were measured by accomplishments, most of us would die in infancy. Subdue your appetites, my dears, and you've conquered human nature . When a nation's young men are conservative, its funeral bell is already rung. Acting on a good idea is better than just having a good idea. They that sow in tears shall reap joy. [Psalms 126:5] When a man is out of sight, it is not too long before he is out of mind. Always make a total effort, even when the odds are against you.

Hi I think you can subscribe 2 adress and make 1 to write only and the other to read/write (I have a mail list with these kind of configuration working fine) I think I have spam enought and the solution seems to be easy to resolve. I think too in the list could be someone disposed to help the list administrator in case of troubles See you ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mohsen Moeeni" <mohsen(a)schoolnet.ir> To: "Tim Peters" <tim(a)zope.com> Cc: <zope(a)zope.org>; <zope-dev(a)zope.org> Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2004 6:36 PM Subject: [Zope] RE: [Zope-dev] Prohibiting Spams on the List > Quoting Tim Peters <tim(a)zope.com>: > > > [Mohsen Moeeni] > > > Fristly excuse me for cross-posting. Using Apache rewrite to server Zope/Plone - VirtualHostMonster and / or SiteAccess?
by Cormac McClean 18 Jun '04

18 Jun '04

Hi, I'm running Debian 3.0, Python 2.3.3, Zope 2.7 and Plone 2.0.3. I have Apache 1.3.27 running, and I am attempting to serve a Plone site via Apache's rewrite rules. Here's how things are set up: Apache DocumentRoot at /usr/local/apache/htdocs, contains a folder zope Within Zope, I have a folder, zope, which contains a Plone site (erebus_plone) and a Virtual host monster. Apache is running on the institute's internal network (only) at erebus.ait.ie (port 80), and Zope is on erebus.ait.ie:8080 I want the Plone site to appear in response to http://erebus.ait.ie (I need to retain Apache for cgi-bin and other legacy content). Here's what I have in httpd.conf: DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs/zope RewriteEngine On RewriteLog "/usr/local/apache/logs/rewrite_log" RewriteLogLevel 1 RewriteRule ^/local/ - [L] RewriteRule ^/icons/ - [L] RewriteRule ^/~(.*) - [L] RewriteRule ^/cgi-bin/ - [L] RewriteRule / http://erebus.ait.ie:8080/zope/VirtualHostBase/http/erebus.ait.ie/VirtualHo… [P] This gives me access to the Plone site in response to the URL http://erebus.ait.ie, but it doesn't display correctly: I get a very basic html page, not Plone in all its glory. As an alternative approach, I tried RewriteRule / http://erebus.ait.ie:8080/zope/erebus_plone/VirtualHostBase/ [P] This gives me Plone in all its glory, but with a 404 error message: not found. I've been reading any relevant material I could find (searched zope.org, read the relvant section of the Zope Book) and I have to admit I'm not sure how to correct this problem - in fact, I'll admit I don't fully understand the syntax in the RewriteRules. Possible options: 1. Put the Virtual Host Monster into Zope's Root folder? The reason I'm not doing this is that on a previous attempt I lost access to the ZMI. 2. Add a SiteRoot object into the Root folder? zope folder? Again, I've tried this, and have had problems getting access to the ZMI. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction. Zope.org content I have read include: Using Apache with ZServer (NOT Zope.cgi) Apache As A Front End To ZServer Debian: Zope and Apache with Mod-Rewrite Thanks in advance, Cormac. Reg External methods
by gknath2003＠dacafe.com 18 Jun '04

hi all, i am new to zope and am using external methods to call an exe file( say for example winword.exe). i also need to pass vlaues to the same. but whenever i invoke(thru DTML) or test the external method from inside zope, i can see an instance of the application getting started (in the process tab of the task manager) but am not able to see the application window (eg., in our case, a blank word doc) I am using winxp. Is this a problem with Zope or the operating system? If the problem is with zope, what settings do I need to change? Thx for the help. Cheers, Gk ----------------------------------------- This email was sent using http://cafemail.edacafe.com .
