change password through script messes up session

Hello all, I'm trying to write a piece of code that just changes the password of a user as they are logged in. This is in a Script(Python). I'm using PAS and CookieCrumbler and the code is as follows: container.acl_users.users.manage_updateUserPassword(user['id'],password,password) This does work and change the password, however what happens then is anytime I try to access a resource that I could view prior to changing the password, I get a basic pop-up auth login prompt (even though I'm using CookieCrumbler), and entering the new creds doesn't work. If I logout through the login/logout link and log back in with the web form, everything is fine (and the new creds do work then). Here is the error that's thrown in the logs: Traceback (innermost last): Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 106, in publish Module ZPublisher.BaseRequest, line 468, in traverse Module ZPublisher.HTTPResponse, line 687, in unauthorized Unauthorized: <strong>You are not authorized to access this resource.</strong> So basically, I can't access any protected object until I log out and log back in. Anyone have any insight here? I've been trying to read the Plone source code to figure out how they do it but I can't get their code to work... I've been searching around for an answer to this all weekend but can't find anything :( Thanks for the help, - Teebes

concerns with nfs

FieldIndex: unindex_object tried to retrieve set x from index y but couldn't

Hi All, I'm having another problem with the Zope instance I upgraded to 2.11. I see the following every so often: FieldIndex: unindex_object tried to retrieve set DateTime('2000/03/09 13:25:10 GMT') from index date but couldn't. This should not happen. What does this mean? Moving zope data.fs

Hi everybody, I have two Data.fs files and the Products directory from a server that was running two Plone websites (don't know anything more about Zope or Plone versions than it was Plone 2.5.x) that I'm trying to get up and running on the new server with no access to the old installation (we re-installed the server) but I can't get it to work in any way I have tried. I can't get Zope to read the database or it will not start at all. When I tried with the universal installer for Plone 2.5.3 (I think it was this version I got the longest with) I got it to read the database files but then I get program errors on almost every page in the ZMI so I can't go on with the installation. Anybody got a clue on how to get the pages up and running again or do I have to start over and add all information manually in two new Plone pages? I'm posting it here because I see it as a Zope error because I don't get near Plone before it fails. //jakob

Strange redirect problem -- can someone assist?

We frequently use a design pattern which uses a multi-part form on a page. The form is populated from a RDBMS. Multiple submit buttons capture the function to be performed. The form action routine breaks into a case-like if-elif-else statement. Each action (e.g,, 'add', 'edit', 'delete') is implemented as a separate block of code. The form uses <POST> to transfer parameters (all strings or empty) to the action. The action grabs the parameters, performs its function, and then continues in the application flow as needed, transferring control using a redirect to the desired URL with appended CGI parameter. Frequently the redirect simply return to the original form for further modification. My problem: In one form for one submit button, the redirect appears to fail. The action is performed but the page to which the action redirects upon completion is never displayed. Other actions from the same form work fine. We have been trying to isolate the problem, but have not been successful--everything looks correct, but we still see the one failure. Nearly identical code in other parts of the system works fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Is there somthing subtle and unusual about the way Zope 2.11 manages redirects? Zope 2.11 Python 2.4.X x86_64 processor running Centos 5.1 Thanks. -d --

A question about __setstate__ in Shared/DC/ZRDB/Connection.py

Hi all. I'm working on an application which uses Zope (2.8, at the moment) and ZPsycopgDA (toghter with a number of other products). While writing an acceptance test, I encountered a strange problem: the test locks up. A further investigation shown that there were two connections at the database; one of them was not committed, the other one was blocked waiting for the other to commit. I therefore used the pdb in order to stop the execution of the test inside the connect method of the ZPsycopgDA.DA. Once I had that breakpoint, I was able to get the logs of the two transactions on the database, and I had the confirmation that indeed there were two different transactions. So, I wondered what could possibily happen, I mean why during a test there could be a second connect to the database. I issued a "bt" to see the stack of calls leading to the connect, and what I could see was that the coonect was called inside the __setstate__ method of Shared/DC/ZRDB/Connection.py. I assume therefore that the ZPsycopgDA object has been "ghostified", during the transaction. But this "assumption" is not supported by any evidence. In particular, it is not supported by my knowledge of the internal behaviour of ZODB on objects during a single transaction. Can anyone provide suggestion on this topic? which platform independent database?

Hi all, Does somebody know some free database and free database adapter for Zope, which exists for Linux and for windows too, please? Do you know some pros/cons and some wiev from praxis for that? I know, Gadfly, but this is really tiny, with problematic backup (need to disconnect, make backup and connect), sometimes it make mishmash in datafiles and then you need your backup...
