Zope 2.7.0 rc1 Released The 2.7.0 'release candidate' release fixes a number of issues introduced in Zope 2.7.0 b4 as a result of merging extensive security updates. set TEMPDIR in 2.7-b4

i try ti import more data than available disk space at /tmp and get an IO-Error "Not enough disk space" when using 2.7-b2 i changed the environment variable TMPDIR in /instance_home/bin/zopectl, like export TMPDIR=/place/with/more/space but this is not working anymore when using 2.7-b4 did i made a mistake or did they changed the variable-name or whats going wrong thanx for help veiko

Ah, and short time ago, somebody on the list already mentioned psyco (http://psyco.sourceforge.net/) to speed up the excecution of python code. Perhaps you could also take a look at it. Hello, is there any kind of tutorial/How-To move form Zope 2 to 3? Or just a beginners tutorial of Zope X3? I just want to play a bit with Zope X3 but I don't really get the point of Zope 3 without a tutorial. I've knowledge about Zope 2. Thx, Florian

cannot change property of type lines permanently

Hi, I'm trying this: <dtml-call "calendar.mailaddresses.remove(REQUEST.mailaddress)"> where 'calendar' is a folder, 'mailaddresses' is a property of it (type is lines) and 'mailaddress' is a variable the DTML method received via an HTML form. After the request, the removed line entry seems to be gone. It's not shown in the ZMI or in my HTML site which shows me the mailaddresses. But if I restart Zope the removed line is there again. Also if I copy the folder, then the copy shows me the removed entry in its properties. Any suggestions? Thank you, Marcus

Checking dynamic permissions

Hi, I need a fine grained permisssion for a certain category of (authenticated) users. Defining a role/permissions mapping is not enough : Each authenticated user is granted to proceed operations up to a certain amount, depending on his/her supposed skills. When the user attempts to proceed an operation that exceeds that amount, the permission for some objects/methods must be denied. Of course, I need to make my own user folder for this (exUserFolder based ?) DateTime and propertysheets

Hello, I have created a Product with a ZClass. The ZClass has a propertysheet with a date property. When creating an instance of this product I try to call the manage_editProperties method and modify the value of another non date property and I receive an Invalid Date-Time String. Now, I am not attempting to modify a date property but am still getting this error whenever I tried to change a value on the same propertysheet as a date property. If I try to change the date value to a valid date time value, I still receive the same error. Thanks

Is Zope 2.6.3 stable?

Hello, Since I installed Zope 2.6.3 on our test-server it has become extremely unstable. I get I/O-errors all the time and the server dies at least once a day. This did not happen with Zope 2.6.2. We're running it on Python 2.2.3. And, as always, there are no useful information whatsoever in any error-logs, which I find rather frustrating. Does anybody know if 2.6.2 is in fact more stable than 2.6.3? Or is it possible than one of our Plone-products is causing the server to kill itself? (It usually die when no-one is using it.) -Petter-
