Install problem of Debian package

Hello, I am using Zope Debian sid package, because I'd like to use Plone. Today, for other reason, I have to reconstruct Zope environent. Then, I tried installation by apt-get, but I found there is a problem of zope-formulator package. It says, postinst cannot determine the version of python used in /usr/sbin/zope-z2 ... please file a bug report. After that I get source package and rebuild by myself, but same problem still remains. I don't know much about Debian system so that I don't know this is a package problem or system problem. Does anyone help me? TIA - Sumiya Sakoda <sakoda(a)toyoake.or.jp>

How to explore the BTree Folder

Can anyone point me in the right direction to explore the BTree Folder as I'm currently using the Default Folder on my live Zope/Plone Site and would like to change my Folders to BTreeFolders to handle more than a few thousabd objects obviously on my development server (Test & re-Test )prior to deploying onto my Web Apache/Zope Server that is live and kicking. I have read the Zope Bible but I can't not find a reference to BTree Folders . Also DirectoryStorage and DBtab would advantageous - just the url or procedure. Thanks 4 yr attention .

Displaying the Contents of a Local File System Object

Hello. Does anyone know how to iterate over the contents of a 'Local File System' object? I have two 'File' objects that lie within the 'Local File System' object. I cannot use the objectValues method with the dtml-in or tal:repeat tags since this method is only defined for folders not for 'Local File System' objects. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Zope server frequently stops to respond without any error messages

Hello everybody, Our new Zope/Plone2 server is behaving really strangely. The server can't stay up for more than a few seconds, then it will stop responding. We've noticed that the best way to get the server to freeze is to open plone with a webbrowser, and then rapidly click on two links so that the first request isn't finished. Then the browser will wait and wait and wait until a timeout is reached. When we SSH into the server the python-processes are still running. There are no entries in any of the error logs (including the operating system logs). If we kill the python-processes, the webbrowser will immediately respond with a "Connection Refused" message. Have any of you experienced any similar things before? Any suggestions on how we should track down the error are appreciated. Hello zope, I have to all requests are handled by only one method/zpt. I set the access rule like this: rq=context.REQUEST s=str(rq.PATH_INFO) rq.set("MainPath",s) # debug if (s<>'/manage') and (s<>'/'): from string import split l=split(s,'/') rq.set("MainPath",l) # debug TraversalRequestNameStack=['index_html'] <--- I try to the Zope get this object, and not the original URL but it have failed. When I try with: http://mysite/o I want to this request are stored into MainPath ("/o"), and the Zope don't drop an error, but it is get the default index_html, and process that. But it is drop the error: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Resource not found Sorry, the requested resource does not exist. Check the URL and try again. (Apologies for a potential duplicate posting of this message) Thanks to those that responded off-list to my original query, but I'm still having no joy whatsoever in getting Zope to properly handle requests proxied to it from Apache. My Apache configuration is: <VirtualHost 10.0.0.2> ServerName www.test.com ServerAlias test.com RewriteEngine On RewriteLog "/var/log/httpd/rewrite_log" RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/test.com:80/VirtualHostRoot/$1 [L,P] </VirtualHost> (RewriteRule directive shown wrapped over three lines.) test.com is defined as a zone on my local name server pointing to 10.0.0.2. I have a VirtualHostMonster in the Zope's root folder with no mappings defined there. Also in the root folder is a folder "test.com" with the default DTML document index_html. When a request is made to www.test.com, Zope intercepts it but displays the (acquired?) content from the root folder's index_html. Snippets from the error_log show this: TraversalRequestNameStack [] VirtualRootPhysicalPath ('',) URL 'http://test.com:8080/%241' SERVER_URL 'http://test.com:8080' URL0 http://test.com:8080/%241 URL1 http://test.com:8080 BASE0 http://test.com:8080 BASE1 http://test.com:8080 BASE2 http://test.com:8080/%241 (No idea what the %241 implies, but it's there in the error log) PATH_INFO '/VirtualHostBase/http/test.com:8080/VirtualHostRoot/$1' HTTP_HOST '127.0.0.1:8080' REQUEST_METHOD 'GET' PATH_TRANSLATED '/VirtualHostBase/http/test.com:8080/VirtualHostRoot/$1' The "/$1" on the end of PATH_INFO and PATH_TRANSLATED would suggest to my naive eyes that Zope isn't properly mapping the URL to a local resource, but that's just conjecture on my part. VirtualRootPhysicalPath also looks a little suspect. If I make an explicit request for http://10.0.0.2:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/test.com:80/VirtualHostRoot/ (as suggested by an off-list response), then again, the root folder's index_html is returned, not that of test.com. Requests to 127.0.0.1 as opposed to 10.0.0.2 generate the same result. Muchos kudos to anyone who can shed some light! mh
