Problem with run Zope at win2k

Hi, I want to say hello to everybody - I'm new to zope(:. At the begining - I am really sorry for my english. I have a problem with starting zope at my machine: MS Windows 2k Python 2.3.1 Zope 2.6.2 (binary install) I found at google that if I want to run zope with my existing Python installation I have to change file start.bat in zope directory to point to my python install. I did this, but en error occurs: The dynamic link library python21.dll could not be found in the specified path. I get python21.dll from zope directory and copy to one of the directory of specified path and an error stop to occur, but zope doesn't start. The closest thing I have found is "RemoteUser" which identifies a user based on the REMOTE_USER environment variable. This would work great if I had access to REMOTE_USER, but it isn't clear that I will. In any case, it seems to function the way I want (it doesn't care about passwords, it just grabs the user's identity and adds them to the user folder if they don't exist already). This is along the lines of what I want, but it is going to require me to hack it a little bit in order to support our specific system. I was hoping for something that I might be able to configure "through the web". I'll also look into how authentication is done with SSL since that is very similar to what we do. Howto prevent deletion of acl_users

Hi! How can I prevent people with FTP access from deleting their acl_users folder? Is there a simple access_rule I can use or some special security setting? I tried to remove the right to delete things inside the acl_users folder, but the folder itself can still be deleted. Thanks and regards, Florian Schulze

What tool to test Zope performance with Apache proxy cache

Hi, I'm looking for a tool to test performances with my Zope server. I don't use Zeo, just 1 serveur with Apache proxy cache activated. So I'm looking for a tool taking into acount cache infromation (this is not the case of ApacheBench). Thanks.

RestructuredText Backport 1.04 optparse Difficulties

I've had some difficulties with the RestructuredText backport for Zope 2.6x v1.04 under Zope 2.6.2, Python 2.1.3. First, it installs at lib/python a copy of optparse.py that tries to import optik. optik.py, though, is in the docutils subdirectory, and invisible. Moving optparse.py to docutils solves that problem. Then, trying to render a structured text page produces the error "AttributeError: 'docutils.optparse' module has no attribute 'TitledHelpFormatter'". Indeed, the version of optik.py included with the backport lacks TitledHelpFormatter. Can I just go find another version of optik.py that has the function? Or, will that fail under python 2.1.3? By the way, the files in the backport tar are readable only by owner. Naively following the instructions "To install the package you need to unpack the archive in the top-level folder of your Zope installation," will result in a dead Zope. Either the tar or instructions need fixing. Thanks!
