Greetings Zoperators: I am happy to announce that we've finally finished updating the old 'Principia' guides to reflect the current state of Zopish affairs. Three cheers for Jim Fulton for his efforts on this! http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides The result is three new guides which teach you how to use Zope. * Z SQL Methods User's Guide * Z Document Template Markup Language User's Guide * Zope Manager's Guide The Z SQL Methods User's Guide explains how to access SQL data with Zope. The DTML User's Guide explains how to access and control web objects from within Documents using DTML tags. It includes a fairly exhaustive discussion of such topics as batch insertion, the tree tag, request variables, etc. The Zope Manager's Guide introduces Zope and gives a gentle introduction to creating and manipulating web objects. Hi all, My first posting to the list so be patient 8^). I set up the server as specified in the docs, but when I do this I get an error message as follows:- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- HTTP Error 401 401.5 Unauthorized: Authorization failed by ISAPI/CGI app This error indicates that the address on the Web server you attemped to use has an ISAPI or CGI program installed that verifies user credentials before proceeding. The authentication used to connect to the server was denied access by this program. Please make a note of the entire address you were trying to access and then contact the Web server's administrator to verify that you have permission to access the requested resource. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- So I turned on the basic-authentication and was able to log in as the user specified in the 'access' file. Great! I have now created a new user 'test1' with password 'test1' but am unable to login as this user, it just will not validate. I must be doing something wrong 8^(. Any ideas. - Threads?

Hi, I have a time consuming functionality(building a dial-up connection) that blocks the Zope server. May I use threads in the Zope framework or is there any other way to workaround this? - Using tree as a show/hide section within a document

Given a document with several sections (say 4), each section can be very long. I'd like the user to have the option of "expanding" a section, or keeping it "compressed" within the document. It looks like  would be able to do this if I could provide a suitable branches and leaves function. What I'd like is a document that looks like this: Header info always the same + Click to see detailed part A + Click to see detailed part B + Click to see detailed part C A user could have clicked on section B, so then they'd see + Click to see detailed part A - Click to hide detailed part B Here are the details in part B ... + Click to see detailed part C The tree elements would need to be in a document. It would be nice if it didn't need real leaf elements, but I could put parts a,b and c in other documents within the folder that holds the main document. Anyone have any suggestions how I could do this? How is "expr" used within #tree ? I couldn't find any mention of it in the source.. Hi everyone, ZSybaseDA (v. 0.9) is now available for download from the contrib area of the Zope site. It is basically just a tweaking of ZMySQLDA to work with ctsybasemodule. http://www.zope.org/Download/Contrib/ZSybaseDA.tar.gz Right now it doesn't have full support for all data types - I will be working to improve this so it can be more useful.
