Python Method Question

Have a hopefully simple question: I'm trying to get clarification on this: created an instance of Python Method and named it testPM Id: testPM Title: Parameter List: self code: return self.title I get an error.... but when i change the parameter list: Parameter List: REQUEST, self it works fine..... why do I need the REQUEST and why does it have to be before the 'self' and not after??? Getting an objects properties

Hello, I posted this question to zope-dev but got no answer and noticed that most of the traffic appears to be on the zope list, so let's try again ;-) I'm trying to write an external method that exports an object to the filesystem as a folder, with all its properties stored as files. I have a prototype working in wich I use 'dir(self)' to get a list of all the properties of the object. It kinda works now, but I was wondering what the correct way is to get all the properties wich are stored for an object in de objectdatabase. Do I have to access them through the propertysheets ? And what happens then if I delete one from a propertysheet, while the object still has it stored? Thanks for any help. Problem with ZClasses

Hi fellow zopers, I'm following the ZClass tutorial that is in the Zope Dev Guide. I make my CDProduct and then add the ZClass, I create the three properties (title, artist, description) on a new propertysheet called cd_info, I create a view called Properties and map it to the propertysheet/cd_info/manage and then move it first on the list (before the security view) so far everything seems ok but now when i create the method index_html <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h1>CD</h1> <p>Title: <dtml-var title></p> <p>Artist: <dtml-var artist</p> <p>Description: <dtml-var description> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> when i try to view the method i get an Error Type: KeyError Error Value: artist Ok so i delete the artist entry in the code above and try to view it again Error Type: KeyError Error Value: description Alright.... so i delete the entry description and now it works i get my CD Artist: What am I doing wrong... I'm following the instructions to the tee and have tried it multiple times. Anyone.... please help a lost soul. Thanks in advance. Mats Nordgren mats(a)launchnet.com

How to access NAMES of database fields? (ZSQL)

I'm asking this question again, as I still haven't solved it. I need some help from those familiar with ZSQL. How can I print all the NAMES of the fields in a record that is returned by a ZSQL query method (not the CONTENTS of the fields). It uses the let tag to create a temporary 'results' variable containing the result of the query. ZSQL method variables in a forms select statement - how?

Hi! My apologies for asking an already answered question? I've made a form wich has a <select><option> field. The <option></option> part gets its data from a zsql method (first of two variables). My problem is - how can I have the other variable to be the one that gets assosiated with the 'name' field in <select>? Thanks in advance Sture Lygren
