The catalog returns record objects that represent real objects, not the real objects themselves. I've toyed with the idea of having record objects have a computed attribute but there would have to be some thinking done to make it most useful. -Michel

Hi, We at ZDP thought other people also want to know how ZDP is doing... so here is the latest News... Weekly News of 1999/12/03 Not much activity at the moment on ZDP, but still some great news * Rik Hoekstra already wrote his 3rd part of changing contexts in Zope. He really needs feedback on these drafts... please give him a hand. * We received positive replies on our letter to the publishers, soon we'll put this information on the ZDP list * We've a new member, who's already writing late at night and who now wants to join ZDP, surely we don't have any problem to let him/her join the club... If this means that the libraries are on the SGI, then no... they're totally incompatible with Linux, and you'll have to get a set of libraries for linux that will work. Hi Christopher, It's an SGI running IRIX. These oracle native libraries are on this SGI. The SGI partition ( $oracle_home) is mounted on my Linux box and I have the rights to work on it. Do you confirm with this state that I can install on the Linux box the dcoracle api and the adapter? Ugh.... since I'm no sure what this is supposed to mean (is the SGI box an Intel or MIPS environment, running IRIX, Linux or NT?), I'll just say that you have to have native libraries which you can link correctly with the adapter. Hi, Is it possible to use Zope with DCORACLE api + DCORACLE Adapter on a linux box to query an oracle db ( 8.0.5 ) on a SGI machine? $ORACLE_HOME from sgi is mounted via nfs on the Linux. FR
