Zope 1.11.0pr11 new folder properties - selection

Anyone figured out how to use the 2 intriguing new kinds of properties on the dropdown list of choices available from the "add" section of the "properties" tab menu of folders in 1.11.0pr11 ? In particular, what's the syntax for the value of a selection or a multiple selection ? I can put things like prestuffed dictionaries in like {a:1,b:2,c:3,d:4} for a multiple selection ("selection" seems to be broken) but when I display using just a  I just get a string - I'd hoped it might have been rendered as a picklist ? Installation and tutorial problems

I've just downloaded zope, but seem unable to get it going with my currently installed web server - Jigsaw from www.w3c.org However, when I try to run it, http://localhost:8001/zope/zope1.11.0pr1.exe/ I get the following error: CGI script emited invalid status. I can run it using the packaged python web server. In the tutorial, when I try to add the date property to the main folder of the demo site, I get the following error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. exceptions.KeyError Sorry, a Zope error occurred. problems implementing my own tag

hello, i have some problems implementing my own tag: zope accepts it but when i write the following in a dtml file:  hello   instead of "hello index_html" i get an array with three elements: "hello ", ('title_or_id'), '\12'. is there a function which parses something like this or is there something i forgot. regards, pawel

manage_importHack problems and 1.11pr1

Anyone else having problems with manage_importHack and 1.11pr1? I've been trying to import the dtmlExamples file, by following the instructions in the ReadMe. ZServer: unhandled exception killing ZPublisher?

I've got a Zope system running with ZServer 1.0b1 on a Linux 2.0.36 system. Periodically, one of the test users here has managed to trigger a bug (I'm not sure what, or how). When they do, it seems to kill one of the ZServer threads, so that the system is still running, still accepting connections, but just hangs. I thought I saw something like this recently, but I can't see it in my mail archive. Please, don't gate this mailinglist to a official newsgroup (comp.*). This mailinglist has much traffic, we don't need more noise. Please, setup your own nntpd :-) -- I'm busily ignoring some thousand of implications I have determined to be irrelevant.

#tree tag problem

I have a DTML Method "test" at .../foo/test. It contains a tree tag. Clicking on the icons to expand or contract the tree, I end up at .../foo/test/test?tree-c=.... This is OK, though it only works by accident of acquisition, but if I rename test to index_html, it doesn't work (.../foo/index_html/index_html?... ends up trying to get a docstring on None, for some reason). Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

The problem with this is that I believe I've seen non-usenet newsgroups on dejanews.. netscape.*, microsoft.* etc. For the record I too am in favor of usenet or single-server newsgroups bi-gatewayed with the mail lists (+ tri-gatewayed with a web interface!) a la python, ultimately. Setup & maintenance effort aside, no-one should lose by this arrangement, & choice is maximized.
