How to use an existing Gadfly DB from Zope

Hi, I ran the dbtest.py of the Gadfly distribution in the var/gadfly/dbtest dir of my Zope-Installation. Then I created a Database Connection "test" for the dbtest database, the name of the databasefile is test.gfd. The I created a ZSQLmethod with this connection, with the simple query "select * from alldrinkers", when testing this I always get: Error, exceptions.NameError: 'ALLDRINKERS' no such relation in DB When accessing the same db direktly from Python like import gadfly c = gadfly.gadfly("test","dbtest") cursor = c.cursor() exe = cursor.execute exe("select * from __table_names__") print cursor.pp() exe("select * from alldrinkers") print cursor.pp() I get results. I agree, a million forks per day is not a heavy load, but I bet it's fairly measureable. Tack onto that the need for apache to pre-fork and re-fork servers all the time, and you could hit a pretty hard limit, but I am talking with no actual numbers here, I do seem to remember somewhere statistics on the number of milliseconds a fork took on various platforms and hardware... hmm, where did that go? autoincrementing in a folder

Does there exist any methods in Zope to keep an auto_increment id on a Folder? I have written an external method for doing this. On the previous GIF Anim

Hi! On the previous GIF animations for the PT: It's really a pain for me to go through those GIF animations. Not too many reasons, just the speed is far too slow and the telephone fee is far too expensive and the browser always behaves strangely. I'd rather you have some GIF frames been picked out to be shown there in the web site then I could go through them myself. eval() in dtml?

Is eval() not available in DTML? What am I doing wrong here? You can probably tell I'm new this  Create a new Folder, then a Doc in the new Folder. folderName and text are string which are submitted to this script. Problems with adding a DTML-document

Hello I have installed Zope 1.10.2 ; Python 1.5.1 and use it with apache on a debian-linux system. I managed to compile it, make it work with apache, but I fail to add a DTML-document. That means I have the main manage-screen, I can add folders but no documents, methods or images. I also can change existing documents, but I can not add a document. After a long time of loading (4-5 min) the server says: "document contains no data" The same error appeared as I tried it with Zope (as downloaded bynary)and Zap as Webserver. So I think, it is not an error in the compilation but something missing in my system. Perhaps a variable which must be set??? Where could be the missing link? Thank you for any help Stefan Thull

sql methods

I would like to create a session variable and store it in a table. I created a sqlmethod as follows: id: active_sessions arguments: sessionid select * from session where  which works fine when tested. I have called it like this:  Your sessionid is <br>  No sessionid <br>    Yes, this session id is logged<br>  Need to add this session id<br>   but nothing gets printed between the #in #/in tags. ------- Regards, Graham Chiu gchiu<at>compkarori.co.nz
