Yesterday I could add users to my database, and now I'm getting a strange error. I haven't changed the "add_User" function since it started working. I also cannot delete users or list users. External User Folders

In the Zope Content Manager's Guide it says: "It is also possible to create custom User Folders that can be used to interface with external user management systems, such as directory servers." This is the only mention I have seen of this. Is this feature documented anywhere? If not, is there some part of the code I can look at to see how it can be done? Thanks, Rob

Zope Build Problem on BSDI - WORKING!

Hi Brian, That worked. I couldn't figure out what make was looking for so I added -rdynamic to the Makefile.pre.in in the /usr/local/lib/python1.5/config/Makefile.pre.in file. Hopefully this won't cause problems for other modules - yes? After that I just re-ran the wo_pcgi.py script and it worked fine. The ld command was already trying to produce .so files so I didn't have to rename them. Thanks a lot. addDTMLDocument Help!

Greetings! I'm building some methods that allow me to add DTML Documents and then add and set properties to them. I'm able to add the Document and set the properties. The next thing I want to do is giving me fits, though. I want to specify a method or document to be copied into the content of the newly created DTML document. So far, I have tried using the 'file' parameter in the manage_addDTMLDocument routing, as well as the manage_edit method of the newly created document. If I pass in a simple text string(no DTML), that works fine - but if I pass in a DTML method or Document, it breaks. Here is some of the code I tried:  Without the 'content_template' it works fine. 'content_template' is a DTML method, and it does contain a couple of DTML tags. I also tried:  with mycontent being first a DTML method, and then POSTed in via a hidden field. Any ideas? Brian

For these reasons and consistent with other posts (Scott Robertson?) on this list I'd LOVE to see a ZCommerce TOOLKIT. If everyone writes their own primitive systems or, worse, writes their own monoliths, none of it will improve in the Zope Bazaar. If we all write using notions of toolkits the underlying components will get better and better over time. Don't know about you, but the notion of supporting my OWN cybercash adapter isn't too interesting... --Rob

This only works if you are using Zope. If you are using a older version of software with a previous of the document template system, things might get more difficult. checking variables

I am trying to check for the existance of a variable that is passed in the URL. The statement is as follows:  (code block one)  (code block two)  The problem is that I always get the second code block. What am I doing wrong? Here is the relevant section of the documentation for the version that I have: Conditional insertion is performed using if and else commands. For example:  text  where name is the name of the item. Sometimes the Zope we're using locks up. The python process goes into an infinite loop. We're using the last 2.0 alpha version that was out. To get Zope working again, we usually delete the python process. Donner
