Hi all, I'm trying to construct a search interface which allows users to build a set of search conditions against a large DB view. One of the requirements for this is that the users be able to choose between AND and OR operators for each condition. Something like (silly example...): Country = Japan and Area = Tokyo or Area = Kyushu These conditions are converted to a where statement using DTML. The problem is that Zope (still 1.10.3 :^( complains about unexpected  and  tags within  blocks. For example:  ... generated conditions ...      ... Another condition ...  doesn't work. I guess the Zope internals weren't meant to handle this construct. Has anyone been here before? Any ideas? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy Zopeing! John Jarvis

How do I search a ZCatalog for only the items I have permission t o see. o see.

I want to not have search results shown for items that the user dosn't have permission to view. Having a different catalog for each class of user would be a pain in the arse. Filtering the results after the search would work but all the summary info would be wrong. Any ideas?

eGroups is hopeless. It seems that with ZCatalog being so good then why isn;t the newsgroup periodically imported into Zope email objects and cataloged so we can read them in and nice format and search them??

Hello I have to convinced my partners to use Zope in a Mission-Critical project. I, personally, am a big fan of python and Zope. So I am in a need of some imparcial (or at least a little bit different than mine ;) opinion to convince them to use Zope. I mean, they are almost saying yes, I just need to tell them "look at these guys, look what they have done"... It's or a higly dynamic intranet site using Oracle as a backend and Zope/Apache for the front end -we need SSL for some sections, so I presume that Apache/Zope is the right combination, right? This will run on a Sun with Solaris 7 (with MP). So I presume there will be no problems of scaling. Obviously this assumes that the database structure is optimized, the oracle tuned, Solaris also, etc etc... But I just need to give them more "success stories" than the ones available from the Zope Web Site... Thanks a lot! Cheers, BEM

how do I change 'superuser' password?

OK, sorry for the 3rd post in the last 3 hours - BUT. am I retarded or something? what is the "filename" suppose to be? # python zpasswd.py zpasswd.py [options] filename If this program is called without command-line options, it will prompt for all necessary information. The available options are: -u / --username= Set the username to be used for the superuser -p / --password= Set the password -e / --encoding= Set the encryption/encoding rules. Defaults to SHA-1. OPTIONAL -d / --domains= Set the domain names that the user user can log in from. Defaults to any. OPTIONAL. Filename is not option, and should be the name of the file to store the information in. thanks!

redirection of whole sub-trees

Is it possible to make this product redirect whole sub-trees? I'm migrating a Zop1 site using cgi under IIS to Zope2 using ZServer. I want to redirect all the "/cgi-bin/zope.exe/(.*)" queries to "/\1" using the grouping syntax. since I'm not using apache I can't use mod_rewrite so this is the only option I can think of at the moment and I can't upgrade until I have the redirection in place. I can do the substitution no prob by changing after line 95 like so for k in self.Mappings.keys(): m = re.match(k, Name) if m: Name = re.sub(k, self.Mappings[k], Name) But "Name" is not the remainder of the url :(
