Hi, First, thanks to everyone that gave me help while I've been learning Zope. It is much appreciated! In the QuickStart material, there are three things mentioned for which I am interested but have been able to find absolutely zero documentation. These are: * Aqueduct * Tabula * Pluggable Brains Where can I find information about them? Thanks, John

PCGI is failing because Zope is failing to start properly 2. Zope is probably failing to start properly because is it trying to import the oracle interface module. 3. This is most likely happening because the C oracle libraries _require_ that a variable such as ORACLE_HOME be set in the environment of the process that tries to use them (you may want to double check the exact name of the environment variable required - I'm going on somewhat fuzzy memory here). When the the Python oracle interface is imported, the oracle C libs do not find the environment variable and cause an immediate exit. The solution: In your PCGI info file (if the process is being started by PCGI) or in the "start" script that runs ZServer (if you run ZServer manually), you need to arrange for the oracle environment variable to be set. Note that if your setup is such that PCGI starts your Zope process automatically, you just need to add a line such as: ORACLE_HOME=/foo/bar to your PCGI info file. Otherwise you need to either set it in your own environment when starting the process or (better) modify the start script to set it when it is run. Hope this helps! howto format/customize property sheets for zclasses ?

good afternoon, basic question : how does one format/customize the "properties" management page of a zclass instance ? this must be quite obvious but even after a shower i can't find it. eg. say i have a zclass called "Article". creating this via the zope interface will automatically create the following : Article Article_add (Article constructor) Article_addForm (Article constructor input form) Article_add_permission (Article constructor permission) Article_factory (Article factory) i have edited the Article_addForm dtml-document to make the html form better (eg. larger text areas larger with WRAP attributes). so, now it is easier to create a new instance of this zclass. but when somebody wishes to edit/update the properties of this instance, the following form is used : http://domain/[zclass-instance]/propertysheets/properties/manage is there a quick and easy way to over-ride this ? i'm only going to add a few things (like better textareas or comments for users) in the name of usability. (going back to the Lotus Notes analogy earlier, how does one format/customize the "form" ?) cheers, chas

Oracle connection requirements

hi everyone, i've played with the latest ZOracleDA a little and i got one step further. now when i try to create an oracle database connection it does not just hang anymore like it used to, now i am getting an error message (i suppose that's great progress ;) : Temporarily Unavailable The resource you requested is temporarily unavailable - please try again later. This may be heresy to some folk, but you're probably better off doing this client side, if you are able. The Javascript in Version 4.x and above Netscape (and IE too, I think) has a regular expression engine built in.
