Install problem with Zope2.0.1

Hi, I was so happy to install in production a Zope2. It works superfine with Zserver on my PC and RH6.0 . when I tried to install Zope2 on my production machine ( My config is PC i686, RH5.2) I got the following error : Also, I tried to start Zope after that and obtain the other following message. Catalog and greater then less than

Zopists, Isthere a way to search for a value in the Ctalog that is greater than/less then a given value (Especially dates) <> don't work and so I guess its not regular expression syntax. The only mention of greater than in the docs is ceil(X), and that's not quite it. Any suggestions apprecreciated. BTW, my tremendous application is running to it's feet and I have to thank the all of you who have helped me from the list, Kevin, Michel, Martjin, and others. You are what Open Source is about. One way to do that is to put all the looknfeel specific elements into a folder in, say, /admin, and then wrap the pages in <dtml-with lf_foldername> page contents here </dtml-with> or, if the looknfeel folder name is in a variable, <dtml-with "_[looknfeel]"> page contents here </dtml-with> so say we have /admin/ lf_prettycolors/ lf_prettycolors2/ lf_plainpages/ web/ content inside each of the lf_ folders, you'd have a bunch of standard named objects, e.g. a dtml method called 'header', another called 'footer', maybe properties for 'font1name', 'font1size', 'font2', &c. when calling the pages in /admin/web, I'm assuming there's a cookie, or a form variable, or something, called 'looknfeel', that's set to, for example 'lf_plainpages'. A page in /admin/web could then look like <dtml-with "_[looknfeel]"> <dtml-var header> <font face="<dtml-var font1name>" size="<dtml-var font1size>">Welcome</font> body here... <dtml-var footer> </dtml-with> and it will pick up header, footer, font1name, and font1size from whichever folder is named by the looknfeel string. Obviously there's a lot more you can do here to make this cleaner, and more managable, but there's a start... Anthony

External Method import problems

I've been playing with Zope for a few days, and while I totally love it, I've got a weird problem. When I try to use external methods, not all of the module imports are available. For example, if I have a file MyLib.py which includes a "from DateTime import *", when I set up an external method from Zope, the code fails because it doesn't see the classes that I imported from the DateTime module. I think I'm missing something incredibly obvious, can anyone point it out? ANN: Comparison operators in <dtml-sqltest>

Here's the first cut of my patch to add different comparison operators to dtml-sqltest. This will allow you to write SQL methods like: SELECT * FROM bar WHERE <dtml-sqltest foo op=like type=string> which will generate code like this: SELECT * FROM bar WHERE foo like 'Baz%' You can also use all the other comparison operators like <, <=, >, >=, <> etc. You can get the patch at: http://www.zope.org/Members/hughe Comments, suggestions, bug-fixes welcome. Import Product (howto).(Amos?)

Hello all, I've had this problem about not being able to "revive" products properly after distribution. I realize the problem now. However, I can't seem to do what the howto says: http://www.zope.org/Members/Amos/ControlPanelDistribution """ If you want to move Control Panel Products between Zopes so that the Product is fully modifiable and equivalent to the original you should use the standard Zope import/export facility. This is exactly the same thing you would do to move any other type of Zope object back and forth between Zopes. """ I can export the product, it seems, but where do I import it? There's not import/export tab for products. Not even within a generated "blank" product. I tried to import into a normal folder (thinking, naively to copy-paste into the product area) but it says: object [myobject] does not support this operation! (error, of course) And a whole bunch of traceback stuff. So how do we do this import/export product dance? Installing on virtual host

Hi Have anyone tried to install Zope 2 on a virtual host? the host my host is using Redhat with Apache webserver, when I try to run ./install I get this error: ./install: /Zope-2.0.0-linux2-x86/bin/python: No such file or directory The file is there... I have tried to install Zope 2 on my own computer (Redhat/Apache) without any problems. Is there anyway that I can use Apache server without any modifications because I don't think I can convince my ISP to modify the webserver or use Zserver. Bjarne Christansen
