ZClass A within ZClass A within ZClass A ...

Hi, I'm currently building a 'URLstore', a product which will classify articles by their URLS. I am having a slight problem with Zclassses. I have created an objectAware Zclass named 'Category' and have created another Zclass within it named 'IntroArticle'. I need the product to be able to create Category instances (so far no problem) and then within the category create an Introarticle instance (again simple stuff) but also give an option to create another Category Instance WITHIN the first category instance. Something like this if that wasn't clear: Category 1: IntroArt 1 IntroArt 2 Category A: IntroArt1 IntroArt2 Category a: etc. Category B Category C Category 2: <same as above> <etc.> I am a beginner at OOP so perhaps the above situation is very simple, but so far I have racked my brains against my keyboard enough to cause a minor headache (and my poor keyboard isn't looking so hot either anymore) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hosting Question

I'm looking into the possibility of using Zope for a commercial web site. The site would be hosted by a third party. I can almost assure you that the hosting company has no experience with Zope. I'm sure that if I propose Zope, there will be a concern that our hosting facility wouldn't be prepared to deal with the administration and operation of Zope. Can people give me a feel for the types of skills and experience we would need to support Zope in a production environment? Thanks. James W. Undo System

I have a file A and a file B in Zope. I do the following, in order: 1. Edit A 2. Edit B 3. Edit A again. Now I can no longer Undo transaction #1, at least not until I undo #3. Presumably Zope knows this, otherwise it couldn't tell me as much when I try it. So my question is this: Is it feasible to reflect (in the undo list) which transactions do and don't depend on others? Evan, I applied the patch in the referenced message and it broke our root page. All requests to http://mysite/index_html worked fine, as did the vhosts. However, any requests to http://mysite/ failed when looking for 'entry_name'. I have removed the patch, and things are now working again, so I can't give you the exact error text without doing some footwork. If the reason for this error doesn't hit you straight away, let me know and I'll get you the details. --Jeff --- Jeff K. It is really an HTTP question, but I don't know how Zope addresses the issue. When the server sends the HTTP headers that tell the browser that the user is not yet authorized (401 status code), it can still include a body (an html document) after the headers, just like on a normal request. The browser displays that page when you click cancel. >From looking at the documentation at http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/DTML-HTML/DTML.5.4.html, I would guess that if you serve a standard dtml document to the client, but you call <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setStatus(401)"> from somewhere in the document, you will get a login prompt, but when you hit cancel, you will see the page. If you are interested in other available status codes, check out http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html, a document that every web developer should have just about memorized, if you ask me. Make sure that any images referenced in the page are not in the authenticated folder, or they will get multiple login prompts after hitting cancel. You will have to ask the list if there is a way to do this automatically during acl_users authentication. You might have to resort to modifying the Generic User Folder to do it. External Methods and Blobs

Been doing some digging, but not luck in finding some example of using Blobs and MySQLdb directly. Does anyone have any code samples? I seem to be getting an error back straight from MySQL saying it doesn't like my string (which is an html file). I suspect this is a quoting issue. -D

Unless you dinked with the PATH env variable, bash will find /usr/bin/python first, not /usr/local/bin/python. FIRST make sure at least one of your pythons has sha. Run both '/usr/bin/python' and '/usr/local/bin/python' and see which one works with 'import sha'. THEN copy the one that *does* have sha over the one that doesn't. -Michel
