MySQLda (and db) I want the binaries

I'm trying to find some way to get zope interfaced with MySQL, however, I don't have the compilers neccesary to build the binaries out of the source. Is there anywhere to find pre-compiled binaries for windows NT? Or for linux redhat? If someone wouldn't mind attaching thier compiled version I would be grateful Thanks! -e-

Zope's dtml-sendmail tag is excellent - it makes sending e-mail a breeze. It reminds me of a similar tag that Cold Fusion added and which I've noticed many sites use for sending out customized newsletters (the "Allaire ColdFusion Application Server" header being the giveaway). Now, doing the same in Zope, I can loop over the user profiles in our database to extract name, e-mail, and even customize the content of the newsletter as follows : <dtml-in ZSQL_Select_User_Profiles>  To: <dtml-var firstname> <<dtml-var email>> From: robot <robot(a)ourdomain.com> Subject: <dtml-var random_inanity> Dear <dtml-var firstname>, blah blah content (also dependent on his/her likes/preferences)  </dtml-in> Nothing groundbreaking so far. But the question then is : how is this going to work if the user database numbers 200,000+ ? It will take almost half a day to complete and this can't be done in one form-submission or page load ! At the moment, I use Python scripts to do the above using a special Reply-to address and a From field so that bounces are kept. Also, messages are delayed by just long enough (0.2 secs) so as not to overload my mailserver. But it would be nice to move this to Zope somehow. Or is it asking too much ? Yes, I know that there are mailing list software like ezmlm (for Qmail), majordomo and listserv. But I'm looking to customize the e-mail headers, and content so that it appears as personalized as possible, which those apps don't do. Perhaps I'll go off and see if mailman can be hacked to do the above, at least it's written in Python. Thoughts welcomed. chas

Cut-Copy-Paste bug in Zope2.1.2 ?

Hello: The copy/cut/paste functionality doesn't seem to work here. I'm on Zope 2.1.2. When I check any item and click copy, the paste button appears. When I change the folder, the paste button's gone! If in the same folder I click paste, I get "No clipboard data found". When I check any item and click cut, the item's still shows up. Paste behaves the same way as above. Michel (& Andrey), it works! Thank you very much. Awesome. Now I see how Zope is loaded: through a package (directory and __init__). Cool. Yes, Michel, what you suggest is what I'm really looking for (and even better than I hoped). Thank you for the clear explanation. I looked back at Andrey and can understand more of what he's doing (but I'll take baby steps for now). Getting zope running on the prompt is what I needed. I'll write up the how-to and post as soon as I can (I hope this weekend...). A Large Favor from the Community, PLEASE! :-)

Hi all! I would like to ask a favor of the community. Yesterday, I met with a potential customer of Digital Creations. They run a very heavily trafficked site on the net. They are interested in a very simple metric, namely number of page views from some very active Zope sites. This isn't a "benchmarking" exercise to measure how fast these pages are being served. Simply, a count of X millions of hits per day/week/month, etc. This potential customer is one of the leading sites on the net, so please keep the responses to only reasonably active sites. For example, I am interested in sites like technocrat.net, i-gift.com, byproducts.com, the wonderful Brazilian sites like IDGNow, etc. If there are secret Zope sites out there doing lots of traffic, please pipe up now :-). If you don't mind being public about your numbers, please cc the list in your response. If you want privacy, just reply to me directly. I won't reveal your name unless you specifically release me to do so, and even then, only to this potential customer. Help us help you make Zope bigger and better :-) Thanks in advance!
