hi all, this maybe a basic Q, or even a FAQ. but here goes... what does it mean when someone say: "my site has X number of hits daily" ? is it the number of daily requests? the number of pages requested? please enlighten me, or pint me to the right direction. tia

firewall zope access headaches

Hello A new colleague reports he cannot fully access an r+d zope site going up at at: <http://209.67.167.70/dolphins>http://209.67.167.70/dolphins He can from his home, but from his office behind their firewall images will not load and other wierdness.. <quote> ..the message I get is that the content encoding "application/x-httpd-cgi" is unknown. Nightmare - Locked myself out (with SiteAccess). How to get back in ? back in ?

Being the silly bugger I am, I put a SiteAccess Rule into the root folder of my development Zope server and now can't get back in at all. Is there any way to force undo the last change ? I've tried deleting the 'access' file or setting its contents to 'admin:' with no password but neither succeed. This is on NT. To say that I'd be extremely grateful for any help getting back in, would be a vast understatement :) chas

Tree Tag and DTML-Documents

Hi, I can't get the tree tag to work in DTML documents. All they do is dump the following HTML in: <TABLE CELLSPACING="0"> </TABLE> They appear to work fine in DTML-Methods and what I'd like to do is have a site navigator down the left of the page. I'm trying to do with with a standard_html_header that is as follows: <HTML><HEAD><TITLE></TITLE></HEAD><BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF"> <TABLE><TR><TD BGCOLOR="#FFE9A3"> <dtml-tree OCM> <dtml-var id> - <dtml-var title> </dtml-tree> </TD><TD> This is where it gets wierd. This only works when viewing DTML methods. DTML documents have the same problem as above. Of course, index_html is a DTML document by default and so it doesn't show the navigator. Any ideas? Chris

Zserver: IP address based authorization?

Hi, I'm new to Zope and haven't figured out how to allow only a specifed set of IP addresses or hostnames access to a folder. I assume that the "domains" attribute of anonymous user permissions could maybe be used here somehow? I haven't seen any documentation this attribute. Or, would using the GenericUserFolder product be the way to go? It looks like it could be adapted to do this, but the description doesn't mention addres based auth explicitly. Thanks, Robb
