Hi, I have a manage_options with the following entry: {'label':'Images', 'action':'manage_images'}, and when i click on the tab, the tab is highlighted correctly. I also have a form on that page, whose action is manage_addImage. The manage_addImage method returns self.manage_access(self, REQUEST) to get the same view back to the user. However the url is now manage_addImage not manage_images, and the 'Images' tab is no longer highlighted, instead the first tab is highlighted. Is there a way to 'alias' a url to a particular tab? Start ZServer error

Hi there, I face problem doing a "./start" for zope. Trace back (innermost last): File "/usr/local/Zope-2.1.4-linux2-x86/z2.py",line 574, in? IOError;[Error 13] Permissiondenied:'usr/local/Zope-2.1.4-linux2-x86/var/Z2.pid. when i check the directary tree i don't see the file. Do i need to install ZServer? Or is it installed together when i installed the zope? I'm using RH 6.1 Thanks Jason

zope database horror!

hi, i went through a nightmare just now. my previous zope database size was about 10M. that was last week. this morning, when look, it's 1.6G! how did it come to that? it really is scary. i tried packing the 1.6G data, but it stops responding after a while. restarted zope, and it takes about 10 minutes to load the 1.6G. i tried packing the data after stopping user access. the ppacked data ( takes about 20 minutes) is only 12M. so, any gurus out there can enlighten me? do i need to pack data nightly? biweekly? any advice appreciated. tq -- ------------------------------------------------------ http://www.kedai.com.my/kk Am I Evil?

create folder within folder-object via DTML

Hi all! I want to automatically create some instances of default objects whenever creating a specific folder-object within the zope-management interface. This is what I do within the constructor of a folderish object: <dtml-with "termin.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "manage_addFile('invitation', '', 'Einladung')"> // (works) <dtml-call "manage_addFile('protokoll', '','Protokoll')"> // (works) <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('id', 'material')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('public_view', '1')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('public_upload', '0')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('owner_delete', '1')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('store_in_db', '1')"> <dtml-call "MaterialFolder_add(_.None, _, NoRedir=1)"> The last one works, too, BUT the folder is NOT created within the folderish "termin" (unlike the "add_files"). This is what I want: termin (folder) | invitation (file) | protokoll (file) | material (folder) And this is waht I get: termin (folder) | invitation (file) | protokoll (file) material (folder) How is this? Arrggh, more namespace confusion ...

I'm on the tail-end of another 48-hour Zoping marathon but just when I can see the proverbial light - click(). Arggh. I've pared my current problem down to: root spam (DTML method) folder1 folder2 where spam contains: <dtml-var "REQUEST.set('mylist', ['folder1','folder2'])"> <dtml-in mylist> <dtml-with sequence-item><dtml-var id></dtml-with> </dtml-in> My aim is to loop over mylist pushing sequence-item onto the namespace stack, ie, <dtml-with folder1><dtml-var id></dtml-with> <dtml-with folder2><dtml-var id></dtml-with> I've toyed with every version of the <dtml-with> tag I can imagine but to no avail. Can someone please explain the source of my confusion. Cheers, Darran.

subclassing across products?

Hi all! I have developed a container ZClass. Within I created another ZClass which presents a meta-class for file-uploads. Now there is the case that I still want to upload diffenrent things and let them be described by an extended meta-class object. I have developed another product which uses services from the upload product. There I intended to create an extended ZClass derived from the meta-class. But unfortunately the BaseClass listview does not allow to select classes from my other product! This is what I have: Product A | class 1 (container for class 2 objects) | class 2 (additional information objects) and this is what i want: Product B | class 3 (subclass of class 2, additional properties) There seems to be no way to subclass from class 2 here, is there? Catching a Zope DateTime Error

I have a number of variables of type :date. they get converted to ints on the target script, which works fine, but I need the script to know whether it's a valid DateTime. I have tried catching an exception, but it doesn't throw an exception, it creates a ZOPE error. It doesn't seem to work in a dtml-if statment either. I was wondering how I can handle this error. probably an obvious one - zope just returning '<Module 'Main'>'

I've got a zope 1.10 installation that's suddenly broken - it's now returning <Module 'Main'> for /, and can't find anything else. I've had this before, but I'm stuffed if I can remember what it was. (it's way too early on a monday). help? anyone? Anthony
