zserver 1 session default?

Trying to access zserver/zope pages: 1. At home I dialed up up my ISP to connect to internet 2. I launched zserver and recorded my ip address 3. I went to work 4. I successfully accessed/browsed my zope pages from my work PC(neat!), but... 5. I attempted to have others access zope from their pc's and NOCANDO? I could continue to access but they could not. Why only 1 incoming ip address for zserver at a time? Using vers 2.1.1 on Redhat Thanks.

About all I can say is that I'm using Debian's Zope packages on my Alpha box, with no trouble. Your problem does not appear to be alpha-specific. ZDiscussions 0.2.0 setup questions

Alright, I have reverse-exported zdiscussions 0.2.0 after 0.1.0. I didn't find that the README.txt files told me what to do next. I created a ZDiscussions instance in my ZCatalog. What do I type next to browse my (currently empty) discussions list? Applying xml tricks to dynamic sources?

Hi, I'd like to somehow use the xml product with xml that I retrieve via http. The examples I saw so far, though, assume that the is saved in Zope as an xml object. I guess I could get what I want by: 1) Fetch my xml via http 2) Save it in a temp folder 3) Apply whatever methods I want 4) Delete the temp folder ...Doesn't sound too great, if this'll be happening on every page request. Any other way? ( I think that this is an important issue - Factoring network services into xml data sources is the Big Thing, and systems that can filter/manipulate xml and then pass it on are in high demand. Right now, I'm deciding whether to do this in Zope or in Java servlets...) Thanks, Robb

Logging users in Zope 2.x

How should I configure logging to get usernames into Z2.log I first hoped to get it from Apache's access_log, but it saves username only when doing user authentication itself. Then I thought that Zope at least would log it and migrated the site to Zope 2.1.3 to get logging support. Unfortunately it does still not log usernames and I have not found the place where I could turn it on. Also the format is buggy: Apache access_log: 193.40.215.135 - - [11/Feb/2000:08:29:55 +0200] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 2673 Zope Z2.log 127.0.0.1- - [11/Feb/2000:19:04:46 +0300] "GET /misc_/OFSP/dtmlmethod.gif" 200 1000 the bug being the missing space after the IP address. what I was hoping for would have looked like: 127.0.0.1 - superuser [11/Feb/2000:19:04:46 +0300] "GET /manage" 200 1000 ------- Hannu

My guess is that the broken PTKBase was earlier in the list than your custom product, and that an exception propagated uncaught out of it, interrupting the normal product loading. If this is so, then we need to look at hardening Zope's product loading mechanism against such behavior.
