Zope process keeps consuming memory...

Hi, I have a Zope process that is currently using rather a large amount of memory. Here's a dump of the relevant line from 'top'; load averages: 0.01, 0.39, 0.57 13:14:44 273 processes: 269 sleeping, 3 zombie, 1 on cpu CPU states: 97.0% idle, 0.2% user, 0.4% kernel, 2.4% iowait, 0.0% swap Memory: 512M real, 38M free, 610M swap in use, 686M swap free PID USERNAME THR PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME CPU COMMAND 14190 nnle 9 33 0 193M 191M sleep 23:51 0.00% python This is from a database that is 9 Megs in size. Basically, does Zope have a memory leak or something that can cause this to happen? What can I do to find out if this is the case? What can I do about it? SQLSession problem

Hi, I am stuck with Anthonys SQlSession. I followed the HowTo on Using SQLSession by Miklos, trying to avoid the typos (too many "Session"/"Sessions", Miklos :-) and got set up using Gadfly. If you only use small items, you can add/change more before the error occurs. As the definition of the SQL-Table only contains Varchars, I don't know why this happens. And then this is not really a SQL-Error popping up, on the other hand the error message changes depending on the BackEnd db... I just caught a bug in what I posted yesterday. If anyone downloaded my patch yesterday please download it again (I broke queries such as INSERT that don't return a result set). BTW, this patch may have resulted in a slight performance improvement for large result sets as the old db.py would convert the entire result set into a string which was then parsed back into lists again, whereas the new version doesn't. determining if a item is a character

I wish to prevent single character searches unless they are numeric. Zope.org Search Niggle

Nice to see that searching for 'Portal Tool Kit' now returns a superset of searching for 'Portal' ;-) How come if you ask to view a printable page of any search you do in Zope you get something like 1400 results returned? Hmmm.... Chris

Zope installation script

Hello! Attached is a script I am using to install new Zope releases. Some things I still do manually - copying of old Producnts and Data.fs files. The script should be run with $PWD = Zope-src. The script can be run under any user that has rights to write to the Zope-src directory. When running the script generates a script root.sh, that should be run by root to complete installation. I assume that owner is root, and WWW server is running under GID www. The script can be easiliy modified for other conditions. Anyone bother to look? to test? to comment? Syntax: Learning from JSP's problems

Hi, I think I saw somewhere that a new / alternate syntax for Zope/DHTML is being thought about or worked on. If so, here's something that can give a push in (what I think is) the right direction: There's some dissatisfaction in the Java servlet community re: JSP (JavaServer Pages), and one of the big reasons is the syntax. This article compares JSP to a competing template language that does things (IMO) much better: http://www.servlets.com/soapbox/problems-jsp.html ...For me, the syntax of DHTML is the most difficult aspect of Zope, and is reminiscent of JSP. - Robb

FSSession and version locking

Hi, I ran into problem with FSSession and Version locking. When the Version object is turned on, the FSSession is affected by it. Which means if one person is working on one version, no one else can work on the Zope site.
