Programmatically creating a DTML Document?

Hi, I'm testing out using Zope as an HTTP-accessible database. (To be used by Java servlets!) Being lazy, I want to save my info as DTML Documents. I can't figure out how to programmatically make a new document in a sub folder, or set its contents. (I have seen pointers and examples for setting attributes of existing objects.) Can anyone help? comparing lists in DTML | Python?

After reading Joachim Schmitz <js(a)ac-copy.net> post "extensive Looping in DTML considered harmful", I have a few questions about how this relates to my Product. I've also been stumped on how to do this in a few situations now. In my python product, I have three base classes: promoter, event, and person Inside of the promoter class there is a list variable called promoterdjs. Inside of the person class there is a string varialbe called djname. In my dtml, I have a page which displays the promoter, and checks to see if any of the djnames match with the items in promoterdj. If they match, I want to hyperlink them to the id of that dj. The code I have been hacking at looks like this: <dtml-if promotiondjs><strong><font size="+1"><dtml-var promotionname></font> DJs:</strong><BR> <dtml-with "PARENTS[0]"> <dtml-in promotiondjs><dtml-let thisdj=sequence-item> <dtml-in personValues> <dtml-if "meta_type == 'SRPersonPost'"> <dtml-if "_.str(thisdj) == _.str(djname)"> <A href="<dtml-var site_url>/<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var thisdj></a><br> <dtml-else><dtml-var thisdj><BR> </dtml-if> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> <dtml-else> This promoter has no dj's associcated with it. </dtml-if promotiondjs> NOTE! this produces this output with two dj's that match: dj1 dj1 # with anchor dj2 # with snchor dj2 dj3 dj3 My question is: How would this be achieved in python, and what is the proper way to do it in DTML? problem with selection list in ZClass's addForm

Property Degree in my ZClass is of type "selection", getting its choices from the root folder property DegreeTypes. DegreeTypes is of type "lines" and has choices ['B.Sc.','M.Sc.','Ph.D.']. My problem is that the user's choice is not getting set properly by the class's constructor. The following is the relevent snippet from my addForm: <SELECT NAME="Degree"><dtml-in DegreeTypes> <OPTION VALUE="<dtml-var sequence-index>"><dtml-var sequence-item></OPTION> </dtml-in></SELECT> I've looked at the REQUEST variable being passed from the form and it is an integer corresponding correctly to the index of the selected Degree. I have tried casting this to string and to int but to no avail - it always defaults to the first element of DegreeTypes. (I can subsequently set it to any of the 3 choices in the intance's Properties sheet.) What am I missing? Darran.

CERT -- Malicious HTML Tags

CERT has released a fairly dire advisory on the dangers of dynamic page generation when coupled with untrusted content submission: http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2000-02.html Anyone care to comment on Zope's vunlerability here? For instance, the ZGotW site allows submissions in structured text, plain text, and HTML -- but now I am probably going to htmlquote() the last, which kills a lot of the point of it, no? The key issue lies in embedding <SCRIPT>...</SCRIPT> chunks (or their immoral equivalents, <OBJECT>, <EMBED>, and <APPLET>). Consider, for instance, those nasty pop-up windows launched by some "free" webspace providers; then consider what happens in Squishdot, ZGotW, or any other site which permits users to enter arbitrary HTML as part of the feedback/collaboration process. filling ZClass addForm with default values?

In addition to defining the various names and types of my ZClass's properties in its property sheet, I have also set a few default values. The question is: what is the easiest way of getting these default values to show up in the class's addForm? Is it necessary to use a fully qualified path from the ZODB root, e.g., something like <dtml-var "Control_Panel.Products.MyProduct.MyClass.propertysheets.common.Basic.prop1" > Generall speaking, I seem to have problems referring to data in the Products hierarchy.
