Using ZCatalog to catalog SQL data

Listers, I have stored my data in a MySQL table and created Z SQL Methods to access the data for viewing. I am wondering how to now use ZCatalog to create a catalog of the data in the table (and thus a search interface). I tried to catalog the Z SQL Method itself, but that appears to do only that. How do you go one more layer and actually pull the data out of the table and add it to the catalog? Thanks for any help, Chris

Hmmm. Are you doing this on *nix or NT? I have been using the the proxy support on our Apache/Zope/Lotus Notes server. It accomplishes what we need. I tried several of the various *cgi implementations and could never get any of them to work to a satisfactory level on NT. From reading between the lines on most of the docs and mail list contributions, these CGI implementations and better under *nix than they are under NT. All that being said, this is implemented on a corporate Intranet where the daily hits are only measured in hundreds and not thousands, so your mileage may vary.

Is this possible? I'm trying to display all the roles that a script has: I get my list of roles, but I don't know what attributes they have. I also can't find "Role" as a class listed in an API anywhere. I got this far: <dtml-in "AUTHENTICATED_USER.getRoles()"> <dtml-var "_"> </dtml-in> ...but that just prints an object tag. Thanks, Robb

Fixing Data.bbb

Hi. I'm currently in a quite embarrassing situation. A site has been running for about half a year non-stop but now a problem arise when I tried to pack the database : there is a corrupted record dated 08-08-1999 which makes it impossible to start up the database. I was able to get into a state preceeding that date by running fixbbbtt.py, but a lot of work has been done since, and the site should even look absolutely different by now. Is there an easy way to fix things, or is the only possibility for me becoming an expert in ZODB2 format and doing it by hand ? ------------- Hannu

What am I doing wrong?

Warning - newbie alert! I'm playing around with zope to see what it does and have come up with a problem that I don't understand. I have an sql method sqlSelectTopic which returns 'topic': select * from topic_table I have another sql method sqlSelectSiteByTopic: argument 'topic' select * from site_table where topic = '<dtml-var topic>' In another method:  <h3></h3>     Whereupon I get (from sqlSelectSiteByTopic ???): Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: ['topic'] It was my understanding that the 'topic' returned from sqlSelectTopic would be used by sqlSelectSiteByTopic, but this seems to be wrong. Whats going on? How can I get it to behave? Thanks for your help, Glenn

index_html and DreamWeaver

Hi, I'm trying out DreamWeaver as a possible editing client for DTML Documents in Zope. It seems to work pretty well, except for a few snags. I see that Zope's FTP can't handle renaming of files. Also, you can't work in a version through FTP. These can be sidestepped though, unfortunately DreamWeaver on my PC won't edit files that don't have an extension. I've seen previous posts on this but no solution. Any ideas? The other approach is to have all files end in .html. This has it's advantages in that you kindof need to do it for search engines to index those pages anyway, which leave index_html. Is there any way you can tell Zope to look for index.html instead of index_html? Cheers, Chris

I am running the provided start script under a user account. I have double-checked the permissions. I am probably missing something simple. Does anything come to mind?
