newbie question where are files being stored

I thought i read some where that all the files or pages you create in zope management screen were stored in Zodb, but I can't seem to find it. I'm running NT. Sorry, if this is a silly question, but I searched everywhere but can't seem to find it. Just wondere where it is located. Thanks ahead! -Jon

Is the ZCatalog named 'Catalog'? If not, are you trying to munge the 'default_catalog' property at all? CatalogAware instances expect to find their catalogs under the name, 'Catalog', unless you change the 'default_catalog' class variable to something else. Is there a "last_modified_by" attribute in DTML

Hi, I found an old mail list item talking about a new function and just want to know if it now exists. I want to keep track of who modified some items along with the time and original creator. You might also use the undo log with something like: db=aDocument._p_jar.db() # Get the database the object came from log=db.undoLog(0,9999, lambda u, db=db: string.find(u['description'], db.absolute_url(1))==0 ) This will return a sequence of transaction log entries for methods on the document. See the undo section in the ZODB model at: http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Models/ZODB Now, both of the suggestions above only work if you are using a ZODB storage that supports undo and they only show records that haven't been removed by packing. (Actually, undoLog only shows records that are undoable, which is not all records). In the future: - An auditing UI of some sort will be added that calls these methods for you and, - An optional feature will be added in storages to save auditing information in such a way that it is available independent of packing. ANNOUNCE: new ZClasses Survey/Quiz Product alpha

"Release early, release often" -- ESR I have put up a new release of the ZClasses Survey/Quiz Product this afternoon. It is at: http://www.zope.org/Members/jwashin/Survey It does some new, whizzy stuff. It has been redefined as a multi-page survey product, which may at some later time be extended to do quizzes. It does not yet do any validation of input, but many features are in place. * Page-centric model. QSurveys hold QPages hold DTML Documents and Questions. * Item (question and DTML Document content) ordering within a page is managed at the QPage level. * DTML Documents within QPages allow arbitrary content to be interspersed with the questions. DTML Documents are particularly useful on first and last pages. * Optional branching from a page to other pages based the values of multiple choice questions allows on-the-fly navigation decisions. * Uses QSurvey level CSS-based rendering, which looks OK on most browsers and degrades nicely, too. * Automatic storage of response information in the ZODB. It's stored by question-name. * Multiple-choice questions are configurable as drop-down lists or radio buttons. Configuring for may_choose_more_than_one creates checkboxes or multiple-select list boxes. It is ZClasses, so it is easy to remove if you decide you do not like it. It does add four items to the global add list, and I apologize for that pollution but see no way around it at the moment. Suggestions and feature requests are welcome, though I am most likely to work on stuff I think I need at the moment. It is still alpha, and there are visible hooks for unimplemented features. As a sort of mini-how-to (Windows NT assumed) for the curious... Download m2crypto, unpack into a directory, add directory to Python path. http://www.post1.com/home/ngps/m2 Copy all contents of /demo/ZServerSSL-2.1.3 into your Zope installation directory (that is, the place where z2.py lives) Generate a certificate for yourself somehow (note that if you do not have a "blessed" certificate, your users will get a nasty security message when they attempt to access the secured portions of the site). (Still haven't been successful here, the Perl script CA.pl seems to be looking for some executable or script I don't have, or do not have correctly installed). Also see the FAQ on OpenSSL.org for discussions of legal propriety etc. For testing, you might run with the default certificate, but not likely a good idea. Change all Zope start-up commands to point to z2s.py instead of z2.py . Append -W HTTPSPORT and HTTPS=on to your switches and variables. (where HTTPSPORT is the port number you want the ssl server to run on) Restart Zope Save for the certificate generation, and the somewhat less than obvious step of requiring a new startup script (z2s vs z2), a very simple process.
