How to pass a list of 2 values each to dtml

Hia Zopistas, I have a form that prints out links with checkboxes. I want to pass the checked links to a dtml-method. the form looks like <input type="checkbox" name="urllist:list" value=" [url goes here] || [linkname goes here]"><a href ..... [and here goes the link itself </a> this is printed out for every link. Now I want to call a method foo(url, name) how can I split the passed strings in urllist into 2 parts and assign them to variables in dtml I can pass to foo ? or is there a way to pass a tuple or list in the form directly? Variable name of the ZOPE root? For use in TREE

Hi All, I have created a method using the DTML-TREE tag to create a browsable tree starting at the ZOPE root. My problem is that I don't know how to call/refer to the ZOPE root folder. Ex: The following creates a tree starting with the "QuickStart" tutorial folder.  I want to start at the ZOPE root instead, so it should look something like this:  ...  But "ZopeRoot" of course is not the variable name. I have tried "root", a blank value (""), a period (".") but none of these work. What is the appropriate variable name of the Zope root? Thanks, kh

Hi, Jorge Thanks, and I am glad you proposed the question. I am posting this back to the Zope list as well, since I figure others may have the same question. The results of submission, which are QSurveyResultsItems, all will appear in a QSurveyResultsFolder named RESULTS, which is created automatically within your QSurvey. Each QSurveyResultsItem is just a container for properties, which are named using the ids of the Questions. The id of a QSurveyResultsItem is taken from AUTHENTICATED_USER and the date/time, plus a random number in case multiple users with the same login name start the survey within the same second. The way to get the survey results is the same way you get properties from any other zope object. But first, a minor bug-fix. We have run into the ZClass ID bug (http://www.zope.org/Members/AlexR/ZClassIDBug) and the fix is to edit /Control_Panel / Products / QSurvey / QSurveyClass / methods / filethedata. Six lines down, find the statement: <dtml-with "QSurveyResultsItemClass.createInObjectManager(id=surveyid, REQUEST=REQUEST)"> Right after this statement, add the following: <dtml-call "setName(surveyid)"> (I will upload a fixed copy of the .zexp file as soon as I can, but I cannot login to zope.org at the moment) Now, delete the RESULTS folder, and all new QSurveyResultsItems will have ids to allow code like the following: <dtml-with RESULTS> <table> <dtml-in "objectItems('QSurveyResultsItem')"> <dtml-if aQuestionName> <tr><td><dtml-var id></td><td><dtml-var aQuestionName></td></tr> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> </table> </dtml-with> Replace aQuestionName with the id of any question in the QSurvey, and it will display all the answers to a particular question. Of course, this is a very simple example; you may do complicated things like calculating a distribution if you want. I have not decided what a good default display should look like, so I am interested in what you and other users come up with to meet your needs. Squishdot indexing. The right way?

I've seen several posts regarding the indexing in Squishdot. I understand that it is outdated, and should be replaced with the new catalog. How is this done? The reason I ask is because I have based much of my own code off Squishdot, and would like to implement the /correct/ calls. I'm interested in the python code, not dtml examples. Thanks for any help or pointers! As far as I can tell it uses these calls to set up the index: self.subjects = PersistentMapping() self.indices=PersistentMapping({'author': Index(), 'body' : TextIndex(), 'title' : TextIndex(), 'subject': Index(), }) self.subjindexes = PersistentMapping({'summary': TextIndex(),}) These calls to add: for k in self.indices.keys(): self.indices[k].index_item(id) These calls to update: for index in self.indices.values(): try: index.index_item(id) except: pass and 3 methods to search: __call__ _searchable_result_columns _searchable_arguments

Making importable files

I'd like to write a program that outputs XML files similar to the ones Zope exports. Problem is, there are id attributes in its tags that seem to be of a random, indexie nature. If I write a program that outputs XML like Zope's, how do I handle those id tags? Can someone point me in the right direction of making Zope-compatible importable XML files? Also, does anyone know if something like a "link" class is out there?

Newbie question

I am just getting started in Zope and have what is probably an obvious question. I have an external method that returns a list. I understand how to write dtml to iterate through the list using <dtml-in>. My question is how do I write a dtml-method that takes the current sequence-item and does something in it. So in index_html <dtml-in "my_external_method()"> <dtml-var the_other_dtml_method(sequence-item)> </dtml-in> And in the other dtml-method, how do I access the sequence-item passed in? A particular image takes a long time to load

Hi, I have a images folder on my website that I use for link images. One particular image stalls the download of the site and more likely than not, does not get rendered. I've deleted and reloaded the image a couple of times but the problem persists with this image. is 'keywords' a reserved variable

Noticed somthing funny we are using 2.1.6 'keywords' is a parmeter for a sql method. The metod fails to return any values. However if I change it to 'keyword' as the parameter it works fine !. Sathya -- ########################## necessity is the mother of invention ##########################
