Hi All!! Sorry to bother again, but I have set up the General User Folder and try to authenticated. Authentication issue with UserDB in 2.1.6?

Hi, I've just updated an old 2.1.3 site to 2.1.6 using the Zope-2.1.x-to-2.1.6-src.tgz file. Now I find that my docLogin screens in UserDB objects have 'Zope Error', 'LoginRequired' headings and the usual blurb you'd expect from a Zope Error. Is this a known issue with UserDB and 2.1.6? The CHANGES log mentions a og of authentication and acquisition changes but nothing specific to this situation. I use UserDB *stacks* so if anyone has any clues.... Hi guys, I think that what you are running into is the fact that cut/copy and paste originated as a through-the-web only operation. It stored object references in the "clipboard", which is really just a cookie containing the serialized object references. Of course, this won't work if you try to use cut/paste programmatically all within the same request - the manage_pasteObjects method will look for the "clipboard" cookie and fail to find it (and then blow up). This is, in fact, what the "no clipboard data found" message you are seeing means. Luckily, there is a way to do it programmatically - you just need to modify your code a little bit because you have to manage the "clipboard data" yourself. First, lets look at the behavior of manage_copyObjects. Its signature is: manage_copyObjects(self, ids, REQUEST=None, RESPONSE=None) If you call manage_copyObjects and pass a REQUEST object, it will assume that it is being called through the web and store the clipboard data in the RESPONSE object of the passed in REQUEST. If you do *not* pass a REQUEST, the method will *return* the clipboard data to the caller. So the first change we need to make is to save the result of calling manage_copyObjects. Next, look at manage_pasteObjects: manage_pasteObjects(self, cb_copy_data=None, REQUEST=None) This method need *either* to get the "clipboard data" passed in explicitly (as cb_copy_data), or to get it from a cookie in the passed in REQUEST. Since we are doing this all in one request, we'll need to pass the clipboard data in directly. Note that there is currently a dependency on the REQUEST being available in the current implementation (so that it can determine whether you are allow to perform the paste), so you'll need to pass in both the clip data and the REQUEST. [newbie question] where is error log?

I found error log for apache web server, at /etc/httpd/logs/error_log. ( I use redhat linux...) and, now I install Zope ZServer. but, Zope Server was Down any error message. I can't Understand. So, I try to find log. but var/Z2.log is access log.. Any error logs ? and, I use Redhat Linux. ( Newbie too.. -.-; ) I want start ZServer when my computer boot up. there are any Start script as apachectl ? thank you? -- ================================ test by iron ironyjk(a)kldp.org

Restarting Zope makes Values in python class disappear

I've got a simple python class that has a data member that holds a list of strings (among other things). I can laod values into this list fine. And can query the object and the list is populated. However, after I restart Zope, the list for the class instance is empty. The other data values in my class retain their values just fine. I've got other classes that hold similar lists for which this doesn't occur. I'm banging my head against a wall - any ideas? mark(a)ifopen.com

ZPyGreSQLDA connection string

hello: could someone describe the format for the connection string for ZPyGreSQLDA? i've looked everywhere but cannot find it documented. i have a database called 'test' which i can connect to using psql. it is running on the default port 5432. i have also successfully connected using the python module. the "obvious" connection strings ("test@localhost:5432", etc) don't work. everything i try when establishing the database gives an "Invalid connection string" error. any help is appreciated. thanks, brad

Aquisition problem

Hi, In the root of my site I have a DTML Method index_html <dtml-var index.html> and a DTML Document called index.html I also have a folder, say /folder, that has no index_html or index.html. The idea was that that viewing /folder/ should result in aquisition and the index_html method presenting index.html from the root folder.
