XML-RPC and ZSQL Methods

You are probably better off using a PythonMethod for such logic. For grins, I used the Python interpreter to bang out the following Python expression: filter( None, map( lambda i, d={}: ( i, None )[ d.has_key(i) or d.update( {i: 1} ) or 0 ] , foo ) ) This is too convoluted to use in production code (and it strips out 0 values, too) -- much better a nice, straightforward, "Pythonic" solution, a Python method 'uniq' taking a single argument, 'items': d = {} for item in items: if not d.has_key( item ): d.update( { item: 1 } ) return d.keys() Call from DTML: <dtml-in "uniq( myItems )" sort> ... </dtml-in> -- ========================================================= Tres Seaver tseaver(a)digicool.com tseaver(a)palladion.com

DateTime and ZCatalog

There is one strange thing with dates and ZCatalog: I have a ZClass which inherits CatalogAware. It has one date property called cdate in propertysheet data. Property cdate is set in the _addForm. Method _add looks like this: <dtml-with "TestDate_Class.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.data.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "reindex_object"> </dtml-with> ... Now, I have a folder which contains Catalog and has cdate as field index. Method index_html first displays objects that have cdate newer then current time and then displays older. index_html: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set ('cur_date', ZopeTime ())"> New: <ul> <dtml-in "Catalog (cdate=cur_date, cdate_usage='range:min')"> <li><dtml-var id></li> </dtml-in></ul> <hr>Old: <ul> <dtml-in "Catalog (cdate=cur_date, cdate_usage='range:max')"> <li><dtml-var id></li> </dtml-in></ul> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> When I create ZClass objects they are always first shown in Old list even if they have future cdate. I need to update Catalog to get correct New list !

Search with partial words on own ZClass

Hi, I've a very simple ZClass, one of the properties of which is "Content". I've a catalog with Content appearing as a TextIndex... How to get it to search with partial words? To explain more - Content = "Hello there, I've a big problem with this!" And when I search with keyword = "problem", this gets picked up. When I search with keyword = "robl", it doesn't. Problems with manage_clone

Hello, I have two problems with manage_clone(): I want users to add folders and documents. It seems that the use of manage_clone() is only allowed to managers. How can I authorize a user without "AUTHENTICATED_USER.has_role('Manager')" to use this method? I haven't found an appropriate ceckbox on the security pages. Second, how can I parameterize the location where the clones will be added? For the moment my solution is to copy the document that calls the manage_clone() method to the destination folder for the clones...
