Zope 2.2, permission problems

Ok, I have a problem with permissions and queries with the new Zope 2.2.0 release. I have a ZSQL method that does a select on a PostgreSQL table. Clicking the "Test" tab for the ZSQL method works fine. Accessing the ZSQL method from a DTML method fails authorization, Even for the superuser. Clicking cancel gives me a traceback ending with... File /usr2/local/src/Zope-2.2.0a1-src/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 500, in __call__ (Object: stock_quotes) File /usr2/local/src/Zope-2.2.0a1-src/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_In.py, line 682, in renderwob (Object: stock_quotes_query) Unauthorized: 0 stock_quotes being the dtml method, stock_quotes_query is the ZSQL method. This is a fresh install. I have done nothing but add 1 user. Any ideas? -- cary

How does one set MailHost on Squishdot?

Hello, I've installed a Squishdot folder and I've been roaming around the tabs, etc. but I haven't found how to set the MailHost option so authors get notifications everytime someone replies to their articles. ZTopics and Canned Queries

Hello all, I have been trying to use ZTopics to create views for my issue tracker product and have come across a limitation. In a ZTopic object, the query is entirely hardcoded, whereas what I need is a 'parameterized' query where the value of a filter may be supplied through the REQUEST at call time. For example, I can create a ZTopic called FilterCreator: (creator : 'shalabh') Now http://url/FilterCreator will return all cataloged objects with creator=='shalabh'. What I want to do is create: (creator : creatorName) And use http://url/FilterCreator?creatorName=shalabh Currently ZTopic does not allow me to create an object like above as it tries to evaluate the query at creation time.

Object local permissions?

Hello: I am developing a python product. I want to know if it possible to have a different set of permissions for different objects of the same class. I have derived my class from RoleManager so I can define __ac_permissions__ in the class definition for class specific permissions. What if I want to add more permissions to a specific instance depending on how (or where) it is created? Is it possible? If not I will have to create another 'instance specific permissions' tab and implement it in my product. Thanks, Shalabh

What causes the failure

After updating with the latest CVS patches my formerly working installation now fails with an Authorisation failure. Before I didn't need a password at all; now even the manager password fails. Please ZOPE developers, can't we get some information into the trace back about what object/permission is causing this kind of failure. Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Unauthorized You are not authorized to access this resource. Username and password are not correct. Hello, Pyro is cool and relatively easy to use. The only thing I didn't like is that one pyro service server is doing one thing at a time(with my tests, I am maybe wrong??). So if you want to 'distribute' for performance reasons, I think pyro doesn't match. Quick REQUEST Question

Sorry about this, but the Zope server is down (or atleast unreachable from here at the moment): Is there a way of printing the entire REQUEST object without the HTML formatting? <dtml-var REQUEST> and <dtml-var "REQUEST"> both produce the formatting codes. I want to embed the REQUEST-object hidden in the HTML for debugging purposes, and would like to not have all that ugly HTML around each value :) Now it looks like this: <th>dtpref_rows</th><td>30</td></tr> while I would like it to look like this: dtpref_rows 30 Should be simple, I hope. Alexander. (realizing the value of offline documentation :)
