Help with Content Managers Guide - creating configuration interfaces

Folks - I've gotten a bit lost in the Content Managers guide - starting at the creating a configuration interface. I've tried to follow the inconsistencies between graphics and text, and some nonsequitors, but I can't seem to pull it all together. To wit: I have created a home folder with index_html in it. I've copied it to the product folder, HomeSite, that I created. I've created the DTML method, designer, in the Control Panel/Products/HomeSite folder. I've created the DTML method Builder in the same location. At this point in time, I believe my Product is complete. Now what do I do? I've also created a factory as outlined in the documentation. What do I do with this? I'm not sure how to test & play with this to see what I actually did and whether or not it works. Can anyone give me a hand? Zope Studio

Is anyone using Zope Studio? If yes, what do you think? Also, I can't seem to get to the zope.classic web site, does anybody know how to download zope studio using cvs? If yes, could you send me the instructions? Thanks ahead of time, Luis.

How i could concatenate the dtml-var and the text to another dtml-var

Hi Everybody, Some could tell me how i could concatenate the dtml-var and the text to another dtml-var for e.g <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name2','courses')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name3',join(%, name2, %))"> actually i want name3 dtml-var to contain "%value passed by dtml-var name2%"; in above case "%courses%" if i give <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name2','courses')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name3', name2)"> it pass the value of name2 to name3, but if i give the the above frist query it gives me an error. *if some one could tell me how to assign dtml-var with some string to other dtml-var && *how one could assign dtml-var with another dtml-var and a text to 3rd dtml-var Regards Manish Bhatia -------------------------------------------------------------- QuantumLink Communications, Bombay, India

Thought some people might be interested in this... Apple has dropped the price of WebObjects from $50,000 to $699... http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2000/may/15webobjects.html Some of those people who previously have said "how does Zope compare to ColdFusion" may now start asking how it compares to WebObjects. Are there any other attorneys out there learning ZOPE. If yes, I would like to discuss the application of ZOPE to Law Office information handling in general and to the related topic of the move to an XML based Electronic Court Record in particular. Please contact me directly instead of via the mail list. For the non-attorney members, the legal community is at the very early stage of discussing why and how we can/should move from treating information as a stack of paper documents inches or feet thick to an XML based Electronic Court Record, where documents serve as the medium for exchanging information with a common database. This is were Zope comes in. The study of Zope looks to me to be the best way to learn how to transform information handling and workflow in the legal community from the paper-stack database into an electronic database. For, if the courts are going to serve as repositories of common information, and accept input via documents marked up in XML, then law offices will have to mirror the change. Second thought, If you agree with me that Zope, probably plus a relational data base, is a better way to handle information then a stack of paper in a file cabinet, or a set of word processing documents in a computer's file system, you may want to show Zope to the attorneys at your company and win them over?
