Hi. I would like to set up zope behind ssl, with people's passwords given by their unix login passwords. Has anyone tried something like this before? Alex.

Python: Class and method and documentation

After a lot test, I think I found something strange in Zope (Or maybe it is too late in the morning...): I built a Python class to be used in a pure Python product. I wanted to add method but add a lot of trouble. Some of them was working and some of them kept going the "Ressource not found" Message. The answer is that it seems that you MUST document your method so that it can be properly manage by Zope: For exemple the method: def test(self): return "test" does not work, but: def test(self): """This is a test method""" return "test" does seem to work. I need help. Could you confirm and explain me this _cryptic_ behaviour... -- Mickaël

KnowledgeKit 2.0.1 -> 2.1.6 Migration woes

I am currently upgrading a Zope 2.0.1 instance to 2.1.6 on a Redhat 6.1 system. Under 2.0.1 I had Kkit 1.6.7 installed and created two different knowledgebases, and even did some work on the default look of the knowledgekit to make the browsing simpler. I have tried several methods for getting the knowledge kit to work under the new zope. - Using the old Data.fs with the new Zope. - Using a new Data.fs and importing the .zexp exports of the knowledgebases (generates a cannot import Broken product error) - Exporting to XML format and importing (see above) Any suggestions on getting my data from one version of Zope to the other? -- -Mike

Corrupted permissions?

Hi, I seem to have got my Zope installation so no-one can even view my site. I have changed the Anonymous user in acl_roles to have every permission, and they still get asked a password. Index_html has View and "Access Content Information". What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to restore default permission in case something is corrupted? Thanks in advance.

Error with Zope + netscape + javascript

I have a server running zope on redhat linux... everything is fine when viewing under IE4 and 5. However, when viewing under netscape 3.04 or 4.08, I start to get server errors (see below). The wierd thing is, it seems that when I first upload and install javascripts to my site, things work (if a little differently to ie, but I accept that), but after about half a day, the server error kicks in. Even when i could view the pages under ns, if I clicked on the reload button, instead of reloading the page, it would redirect to the .js file within the directory the browser was pointed at! This gives me the same error as I now get even without the redirect. Incidentally, (when ns was working) if I hit return when the carat was in the address bar (as in, alternative way of reloading the page), everything was fine. Zope and Python

Hello, I need to replace DTML code with Python code in a product. I have something like this in my Zope Class: form=HTMLFile("genform", globals()) The genform dtml is used with three parameters. I would like to replace this code with something like this: import genform # genform.py ... form = genform.run With genform.run being a function in the genform module accepting 3 parameters. This code actually does not work. What am I doing wrong ? What should I do ? Thank you in advance for your help. -- Mickaël
