FWIW, when I had a look at this not too long ago, there wasn't a lot there. On the other hand, writing one from scratch is a doable task - there's a fair amount to write, but it's not all that bad. (No, I can't release the one I've written - not mine to give away.) Zope as an entry in inittab.

In one of my servers, Zope suddenly dies. The Zope processes are gone from the "ps aux" process table and no clue whatsoever is left in any log, including Z2.log My question is, has onyone included Zope (the "start" zope procedure, that is) as an entry in the /etc/inittab in order for the process to reinitiate (respawn) automatically in case it dies. I wm wondering if this is a good idea or not in relation to Zope.....? Of course, the ideal situation would be to solve the crashing factors / issues rather than "patching" the crashing with the inittab respawning. Any comments are welcome, thanks in advance. Alright so I fixed this one by creating an index_html method. That makes sense. So I was reading an article by Amos which said http://www.zope.org/Documentation/How-To/changeIndex that you can make a method that calls an object, so that you can change to a different object for index_html. For example: <dtml-var Default> When I call this I get <MyObject instance at 017CB800>. However when I call it directly it works fine. Hi there Zopists My apoligies for the rather long story which follows, but I think it very interesting for anybody developing serious websites: thats you guys ! The analysis is about which database to use for websites. The author seems to be familiar with about all the commercial en open source databases on the market and finally found KDB. The story is taken from the KDB-mailing list. Very short: KDB is a very small, very efficient, very fast database (because optimal use of ram) written in the language K and has (among other options) a http-based XML interface for easy connecting. German Usergroup?

Hi there, I just installed zope. I want to use it as a content management system in our company and for some costumers. Since I´m a bloody newbie to zope and python, I´m urgently searching for german usergroups. I already checked zope.de, but it´s rather empty. Zope, Apache and Windows 98

I've set up Apache on windows 98 along with Zope but not sure how to put the packages together, (i.e. develope a website through Zope, publish it and have it the default.htm page/site when I login in to my machine via the browser. I looked at the documentation for modifiying conf.http but no luck. If anyone else has dealt with this situation successfully, I'd be interested in hear some of your gothchas. MySQL and PostgreSQL work fine together with Zope you can mix connections and requests for both in the same Zope session.
