Under Internet Options, Security I run under the Internet web content zone. Clicking on the Custom Level button I have User Authentication, Logon, Automatic Logon only in Intranet Zone set, I also have all the Scripting options enabled,Userdata persistence enabled, submit nonencrypted form data enabled,software channel permissions at medium safety, navigate sub-frames across different domains enabled, launching programs in an IFRAME enabled, installation of desktop items enabled, drag and drop enabled, access data sources across domains disabled, cookies enabled (both options). I can't see anything else there that may be relevant I'm accessing this via an NT-based proxy server called WinGate which clearly causes no problems. Something at the back of my mind is nagging - to do with the encryption of passwords in NT (introduced in one of the service packs). I know this can cause issues with people running Samba on Linux and there is a script which you can run (supplied with Linux somewhere) which patches the Windows registry to turn off encryption. strange pcgi prob in FreeBSD

Hi all, While trying to update the zope port for the FreeBSD ports system I ran into a problem which kinda has me stumped. I looked thru the ML archives, but couldn't come up with anything, although I'm sure this has happened before. Everything runs normal when I just connect to ZServer. Running it thru Apache I get (sometimes): Temporarily Unavailable The resource you requested is temporarily unavailable - please try again later. (116) unable to connect, fd=4  on *some* documents. I.e. the ZopeButton in the default page will show this, but not the page itself. In the /manage screen, the left frame will be ok, but some of the right frames will show this behavior, while others won't. It seems ( I actually confirmed this) that it depends on the file size being served. I can make the left tree frame display "Temporary Unavailable" too if I open enough sub-tree elements. I'm running Zope 2.1.4 with GUF using Zserver on RedHat 6.1 and I have had no trouble using IE5 on NT4 workstation. Does this point to the Apache to Zope connection being the problem - is the authorisation being passed through correctly ? Have you tried it with Zserver to see if it works in that mode ? Help! I've just started learning Zope and i have to do quite an interesting work: my task is to create an intranet server for publishing internal documentation in PDF format. The user will have a tree to browse. Single record contain properties and several files (PDF). Problems come from the security: each user will have a Priviledge that is an integer number. This number will be compared with records AND files in it. So, for example i can see a record but not all the pdf files describing it. What i needs are suggestions: do you think that the Zope internal database will hold up to 2000 pdf files (50 to 150K each)? I've written the user login/logout with GUF, adding the priviledge value but how i can compare it with files? dtml-tree bug?

Hi, I was just testing some things with Zope and came probably across a bug: This works (I don't want the 'Catalog' to appear in the list): <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder'])"> <dtml-var id> </dtml-tree> Unfortunately calling this page with '?expand_all=1' causes the thing to fail on 'KeyError', 'branches'. I tried some hacking but the only result I got was an always collapsed tree. Is this a known error? Ondrej -- Love is staying up all night with a sick child, or a healthy adult.

Thanks you for writing. I have been thinking that I am losing my mind. I have the same trouble with IE5. IE3 and IE4 work fine. No one has replied to this thread and I have made no further progress. It is very annoying. Let's compare our setup and see if we can figure this out together? I'm running Redhat 6.1 with Apache serving Zope. Auth is via GUF. I was thinking it may be something the do with the Auth Realm or something. I really don't even know where to start because people think I am trying to start a flame war when I say that IE5 seems to be the problem. I've already started porting to Enhydra because no one can help me. UTF-8?

I just tested Zope with utf-8 encoding on in Netscape and it seems to work without problems. Unfortunately seems to me zCatalog doesn't support it. Is there some way to make ZCatalog recognize UTF-8? Ondrej -- To know Edina is to reject it. -- Dudley Riggs, "The Year the Grinch Stole the Election"

hi all I try wrote a DTML Method to let anonymouse user to create their new own homepage I use manage_clone first and open "all" permission for anonymouse under /XXX then it worked... but when I try use manage_changeProperties to init some properties from anonymosue user input ...I alwasy got "authorize request" from server ... can't manage_changeProperties work throught "anonymous" permission ?? ZCatalog and SQL

Hi, Can somebody tell me, how I can reindex a ZCatalog programmatically? I have found the following manage_catalogReindex(REQUEST, RESPONSE, URL1) But I don't know what I should insert for the variables (REQUEST, RESPONSE, URL1), can somebody help me, please. And my second question is: Is it possible with a sql methode to add data from a webform, because when I call the sqlmethode as <form action=sqlmethode...> I will be redirected to the management interface! mex
