Looking at the messages, I see that some people are looking interested to the Interbase Open Source database. Is their someone who has already established an connection of Interbase with Zope? ie a DAInterbase? Tom.

Accessing tree-colspan outside tree tag

I need to assign tree-colspan to a page-wide global variable so I can use this value further down the page. i.e. <dtml-tree> Set "_['tree-colspan'] to a page-wide accessible variable. </dtml-tree> ... Now access it down here. <dtml-let> would work, but you can't have start a let in a tree tag and finish outside. It would have been if <dtml-let> didn't have a closing tag to limit variable scope. Transparent Folder causes management screen weirdness

The Transparent Folder Product (0.1) is doing funny things to the left frame of my management screen. When this product is installed, the folders get sorted sometimes in descending order and sometimes in an apparent random order. Meanwhile, the right frame (if it's set to the root folder) continues to show the entries alphabetically. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Product a couple times and verified that the strange ordering occurs only when it's installed. Any ideas why this is happening? Whats wrong?

hi, I have two dtml-in expressions. The second one will use the value from the first one, but I don't know what's wrong! <dtml-in expr="Catalog.uniqueValuesFor('niederlassung')"> <dtml-in "Catalog(niederlassung='<sequence-item>')"> ?????? how to write this line correct? <dtml-if sequence-start> <table border="1" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"> <th>Name</th> </dtml-if sequence-start> <tr><td><dtml-var name></td></tr> <dtml-if sequence-end> </table> </dtml-if sequence-end> <dtml-else> No Result! </dtml-in> </dtml-in> thanks mex

External method and import

Hello, I have got problem with a try at using a previous Python-CGI dev in Zope (call it cgi_test.py for example). To do this, I am writing an external method, that import my cgi_test.py file. I rewrote my cgi_test.py to return the html page instead of printing the data to stdin. But, Zope does seem to like import in the external method. It is able to import the whole file (from cgi_test import * seems ok) but I it does not find the main() method when I call it from my external method (cgi.main()). When I am trying to import this method directly (from cgi_test import main), it does not work (method main is not found). Everything work fine when I simply run the external method from Python. So, I have got two questions: 1- How would you do such a task ? Is my method the best way to do what I need ? 2- What am I missing in Zope external method use ? Is there particular restriction on import (no pun intended !) ? Thank you in advance for your help. -- Mickaël

Darn I thought as much. Oh well glad I caught it now and not a week later. I'm trying to create a set of web pages, by using the index_html method I was able to then show set properties in different ways, except for this one problem. So I tried inheriting from a DTML Method and Document but it seems I cant use the index_html method anymore to insert headers and footers etc... it just renders the Method / Document data. There are lots of non-technical users who are going to be adding code and the page is complex, so I would like to not have a whole bunch of <dtml-var> tags they can't touch. Proxy roles

Hi folks, I've been trying to find out how exactly proxy roles work. >From the explanation on the proxy-tab view, I assumed that if I give a DTML Document or Method the proxy role 'Manager', it wouldn't matter who is accessing that DTML Document or Method because they would have the same permissions as a 'Manager'. That is obviously wrong because it didn't work that way. Does anyone here know how these proxy roles really work? I appreciate any help. Katrin

Re-evalute DTML

Is there a way to evaluate the DTML in a property.... for example I have <dmtl-var example> in a property of a class, but it shows up as dtml source in my web page. Is there a way to "evaluate" that code? TIA
