Hello everybody. As many of you know, business for Zope is really picking up, as is interest in a mythical business partner program. We would like to get input from everyone that is interested in this. Going Virtual, LLC is proud to announce the first release of its Zope Database Adapter for Interbase v6.0 beta. The only known limitations are those imposed by Interbase when using Dynamic SQL, and our limited support for ARRAYs. The adapter has been tested on Linux and Solaris, using both Zope 2.1.6 and 2.2 beta. While this is the first release, it is feature complete and awaits only community testing before the 1.0 release. String Substitution

I'm trying to convert data entered in a form to a format that I can manipulate later, specifically, I need to convert " (double quotes) and possibly ' (single-quotes) to the appropriate HTML substitute, like &quot . What's the easiest way to do this? Is there built-in Zope functionality for this, or will it be necessary to use an external Python method? Thanks..

how to stress test a zope site?

All, Is there a way that I can run a stress test on a Zope site running ZServer? I am trying to do some capacity planning and trying to determine how the sustained hit count before performance starts degrading. Any suggestions and thoughts will be appreciated. Problem with ZClient

I'm testing ZClient to access a ZSQL method on a NT box from a Linux box since Linux can't access any odbc (propietary) database. As ressult i become a bci.ServerError. DTML?

A clean, concise syntax (like Python, DTML is more like Perl right now ;-) 3. Good documentation (much easier to do if 1 and 2 are met...) I also think having Python Methods ship with Zope would really help... There are niggles (like the rediculous id problem) which you can live with, but doing anything other than the really mundane in DTML means extreme hair loss right now, which is not good. I wonder how many other people would agree with me: nevermind ZEO, or the PTK, ZPatterns or any new fancy functionality. Can we at least have a decent template language that doesn't confuse the hell out of newbies and oldbies alike... cheers, Chris (Who just spent 1/2 hour figuring out how to do a multi-language site in Zope, and now after 6hrs of trying has given up doing a recursive tree copy to get the old site into the new structure with a DTML method or two and is resorting to ugly hacky external methods because Python Methods arent' around/stable) PS: Zope: yes it makes the hard things very easy, but it makes the easy things very hard, so it all balances out nicely... ;-)

serving object under different name

Hi. Scene: I have an downloadable object with id/title. When the user clicks on a link, say: <a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title></a> a requester pops up and asks the user where to store the file with the provided id. Lets say I want to serve the file under the title, not by id, how can this be done? (The requesters pops up and uses the title instead of the id as 'save-as' name.) (I store long, self explaining titles, but short not quite self explaining ids). Thanks for any help, Ingo.
