Error Value: managemanage_editForm

hi, I am using Zope 2.1.6 and Squishdot 0.4.1 Squishdot works greate and works the way as I want. However, I cannot edit the permission setting for a squishdot site. Whenever I try to change something I got AttributeError and the Error value is 'managemanage_editForm' So I tried to change the permission for individal roles, they works except the acquire permission setting part. Here I got the same error again. These are the error code I got form the page,  so, I look inside the setRoles function, it seems, 'self.data' contain the name 'managemanage_editForm' which cause the error, am I right here? I also look through the __init__() for squishdot, I couldn't see how it pass the 'data' passes to Permisson object when it first instance. Where should I look for to fix this 'managemanage_editForm' problems? Kwan

Heap Corruption Problem

Apparently, we have a serious heap corruption problem. The problem manifests itself in different ways: The Python process * receives signal 9 (SIGKILL) by Solaris 2.7 * receives signal 11 (SIGSEGV) * enters an infinite loop (and blocks the complete process) In all cases, the analysis detected that the fatal event occured in a memory management function, not always the same, however. The problem occurs about 1 to 2 times per day on a lightly loaded site (still under construction and test). Environment: Zope 2.1.6 binary release for Sparc-Solaris 2.6 Solaris 2.7 ZOracleDA 2.1.0 with Oracle 8.1.6 no other C level extensions I will keep you informed. Dieter

ZStylesheet multiple browser question

I am new to ZStyleSheet. How do I create a rule which is different for, say, IE and Netscape? E.g. If I want a color to be red in IE and blue everywhere else (just an example :-) I can't do it in the same rule as attribute ids have to be unique, but they are also the name of the selector attribute. Is it right to create two rules (myclass_ie and myclass_everythingelse) or is there a better way? Thanks in advance Neil

Fellas, I got it to work :) I used the rstrip method from the string module to trim trailing whitespace from the end of each line whenever a document template gets saved. I tested it with DTML Documents and Methods, which both worked fine. It doesn't affect properties, so if you need to render trailing whitespace for some reason you could store that as a property. The mods are listed below. If you use it, let me know what you think and I'll write it up. The issue is to make an object easily "commentable", but not in the same sense as using DTML comments. "Discussable" is probably a better term. A "discussable" object would be able to present a UI which would allow people to add comments to a rendered document, and present those comments to users whenever the document was re-rendered. Just like Squishdot. Except as a general-purpose mixin class that can be reused.

This is something I've wanted to see for a long time too. The Portal Toolkit (http://www.zope.org/Products/PTK) evidently has a "discussable" mixin class that allows users to add comments to documents. You may want to check it out. This feature should probably be abstracted out of the portal toolkit and made more generally available. I'd really like to see a "commentable document" product based on an atomic mixin class that we could reuse on Zope.org for how-tos, news items, etc. I really like ACS' "bboard" system, that's the kind of functionality I think these objects should provide. I'm noticing that our file sizes could be reduced by 10% or more by trimming trailing whitespace. Is there a way to get Zope to do that automatically? Win98 service

Is it possible to have Zope run as a Win98 service? I'm going to be using win98 until I get up to speed and then use Linux. But for several months I don't want to be stuck with this DOS window that remains after I run the start.bat. -mjm
