If I am in the Zope manage interface. I select Add then scroll down to Script(Python) this is what I was calling an inner method. Here is a reply I got from a Python IDE engineering team as to why I am not able to debug this code with their IDE: Regards Clark " Support for non-disk fragments like Zope internal methods is planned but not yet there. It is what is causing some difficulties in ( inside, within,) the Zope community. GenericUserSource and LoginManager

Okay, so now I'm playing around with LoginManger, which is finally installed correctly (or so it seems), but when I go to add a new LoginManger, the list of User Sources is blank. Many pages I've found tell me that LoginManager comes with a default kind of Source called "GenericUserSource," and I looked in the LoginManager product directory under lib/python/Products and it LOOKS like GenericUserSource is there, but I can't actually find it inside Zope. The Control Panel says that both ZPatterns and LoginManager are installed correctly: ZPatterns (Installed product ZPatterns (ZPatterns-0-3-0)) LoginManager (Installed product LoginManager (LoginManager-0-8-6)) If someone could help me out here, I'd really appreciate it. Patches for WebDAV and Windows XP

Just for your information: The current Zope versions will not work with Windows XP through WebDAV. The CVS trunk and Zope-2_4-branch now contain patches to lib/python/OFS/ObjectManager.py and lib/python/OFS/PropertySheets.py to fix this problem. Guys, I would really like to see some direction as to whether to use disk files for inner methods. Zope is a great tool but until we have some good IDEs for it, it will not compete with better known technologies. I have spoken with the Karmira and Wing and they both told me the same thing- They are waiting to see how Zope stores the inner methods. Regards Clark

Chicken or Egg Syndrome

Hi; I want to simply_and_elegantly achieve the following: 1. Ping the visitor's browser to determine screen resolution (easy: I know how to capture this). 2. Redirect them to a folder such as 800 or 1024 depending on the res (easy again). 3. Assign a variable within that folder via a dtml method that will be used to size elements such as image width and height (easy again). 4. Place all the documents that will need that variable in a lower folder, so that I don't have to copy all the dtml documents into folders 800 and 1024 (ah: not so easy! at least not for me). The problem appears to be that I need to cull a variable out of a Javascript that I can in turn utilize in a dtml method.So, how do I do this? TIA, BenO

Redirect to a specific page

Hi, Is it possible to redirect to a specific page no matter what the user asks for? I mean the browser could request the url http://foo.bar.com/luser and I would redirect it to http://foo.bar.com/template?username=luser The problem is that when I request a URL that doesn't exist it reports a 'Not found' error. -- Konstantinos Margaritis Bullet S.A.

Problem with 2.4.2 installation: RegexObject fails using old Data.fs

When I moved to zope 2.4.2 things looked OK. I copied all my old products in one-by-one OK too. Then I copied over my old Data.fs from my 2.3.2 installation. Whoops... This leads to quite a few errors of the form: 2001-10-26T14:30:08 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00l\x8b' Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/share/Zope-2.4.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZODB/Connection.py, line 544, in setstate SystemError: Failed to import class RegexObject from module re I know that this is the new regexp mechanism, but don't know which old product or item may be failing, or how to track down the problem. After the 2.4.2 install I tried the installation Data.fs without difficulties. Any hints are desperately and gratefully needed. Thanks, Greg
