Hi It can't be the browser. I've tested Win NT (all is well) and Solaris (hangup) with the same Browserconstellation. The only difference was that Solaris runs with Apache. And my research has turned up that it is very unlikely, that Apache can be the cause. What would really help are more people trying your (because its easier) script on their machiene and telling us what happened. Of special interest are Solaris installations especially if they do not have the problem then we'd have something to compare against. So please people do us the favour and run the test! DTML 'objectValues()' problem

I have Zope 2.4.0 on a FreeBSD 4.4 release system. I am trying to use the <dtml-in "objectValues()" > to get the list of files in a directory ( a very common thing to do). But it doesn't work. objectValues() returns nothing at all. In another folder, I managed to write a python script where I called it drom the context object, and it works then, but not in DTML. Now, in a seperate folder, it won't even work in a seperate python script, better yet from a DTML call. This is very frustrating, and I would appreciate any input. Thanks. -Dave

I guess it's the html, take for instance http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=01/10/25/1824206&mode=nested If you are not on a very fast connection, you'll have to wait sometime until the page is rendered. That is because of a complicated table layout the browser has to wait for the whole html-source to be loaded in order to render it. But pressing stop while loading renders part of the page (in IE 5.5), everything which the browser got before you pressed stop will be rendered. You can check that by looking at the source, it just ends in the middle. It might be that you just get the impression of the whole page being published. in fact most of it "was there", but the browser just decided it couldn't begin rendering it, for layout reasons. OTH, the behaviour of the "stop" button might be browser dependent, but a doubt that. Sending rst is the logical thing to do, IMO. cheers, oliver

Hitting the stop button on the browser at least causes two things: a) stop making further requests (stop loading images etc.) on that page b) reset all open tcp connections from that browser window by sending a RST packet. What we see with that long running process is b), and that is something the server can notice - web is stateless, but a tcp connection is not. That was the point why I tested a similar thing with apache/mod-perl. The process _will_ get stopped when the user presses stop on his browser. Zope just runs on under the same circumstances. cheers, oliver

Hello Oleg great. You have to know taht I´am not good in python programming.My boss said that I have to do sometfing with it. My next question is about your tool. The E-Mails I receive are stroed in a list / array. eacht email line is one entry in my array. But your tool supports only emails which are stored in a file. --> according mimetools.Message. users in zope

Hi, I have created some new users un acl_users of root When i do login with h...8080/manage i can log in with these new users in zope manage mode but this is not what I want : I want to log in "normal view mode" (not the manage screens) in my site but with an authenticated user I tried to set up a dtml method mysite/myfolder/login then calling http:....8080/mysite/myfolder/login which contain : <dtml-raise Unauthorized></dtml-raise> to trigger the login. This result in the pop up window User Id /passw coming and here : Trying to login with these new users always give "Authorization failed" I restarted zope and restarted the browser. Same thing. Python 1.5.2 and unicode

Hello List, I have a big problem ! I wrote a script to parse emails. Ok that works fine. But sometimes there are emails with a "subject: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?AW=3A_=7B80/20/2=7D=5BOrganizer=5D_RE=3ARE" and so on. ( Outlook creates that ) I think it is in unicode. Does someone of you know how to parse this string so, that the ASCII expressions changed into chars for example =7B => { or =7D => } ... I´ve read that python 2.1 supports unicode. But I don´t want to install it. Is there a possibility to do that in Python 1.5.x ? Thnaks in advance Florian Schuler
