Hello Andreas, I'm sure that it's described somewhere ;-) You're doc has an id DOG and it has a property name(a string). Zope site problem

Hi, I meet a serious problem. When I want to add a DTML document in root folder using the id as "URL" and click the "ADD" button, Zope Error occur. Then I go back to the root folder and add DTML document with another id such as "test" or "temp".., there has the same Zope error. And all the button on the manage page are not work even I logout and restart the machine and relogin. It seems my zope site died. How can I figure out this problem? Hope you help me. Thanks... small python problem

Hello friends, i have a form which uploads a file. and it calls a method which pass parameter to a python script. this python script creates a 'file object'. Now the python script creates a 'file object' even if file is not uploaded in the form. so in the script i want to have a condition, if picture: container.foldername.manage_addImage(id=id, file=picture) but still even if the file is not uploaded the 'file object' is created. what is the problem ?? i have to use the python script and not only DTML method because i am doing some other calcuations too. Do you mean (in other words) that you want to call the python script directly via the URL? I've wanted to do that myself and tried a few times. All attempts failed. First, just calling the URL would lend Zope to think that you wanted to call the script's index_html method. You really need to have something like a DTML Method call the script using the standard DTML call statement. Alternatively, you can use appropriate form tags (e.g., <FORM ACTION="my_cool_script" METHOD="post> <INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE="Do it!"> </FORM>) I think the problem is that the request that you make via Zope simply to call an object via the URL doesn't provide the necessariy functionality to invoke a script. In short, the URL request is a "GET" rather than a "POST" operation. Zope experts may have a better explanation. Hope that helps. Hi Andreas: Assuming that the DTML Method (for example) is called from within the folder in question, here is some code... The following code reviews each of the Folder and DTML Document objects within the 'context' folder (i.e., the one where the particular method is called). for obj in context.objectValues(['Folder', 'DTML Document']): obj.title # this is the object's title property... # ... Add some code here to do something with the property... How to take properties from a folder and get at its contents? Do this... Put the Python script in the folder that contains the folders you want to review. Then put a DTML Method that calls the python script. Here is the code to put in the python script... for fold in context.objectValues('Folder'): the_folder_title = fold.title for docs in fold.objectValues('DTML Document'): the_document_title = docs.title Chapters 4 and 5 of the Zope Book can help you. You can read the Zope Book online at http://zdp.zope.org/projects/zbook There is also ZopeLabs (http://www.zopelabs.com) that has some very handy recipies for doing common tasks in Zope.
