I had the exact same problem with Zope on NT. No matter what I did, I couldn't get Zope to play nice with the SMTP server that comes with IIS 4.0. Eventually I installed another SMTP server, and MAILHOST worked like a charm. If your site isn't incredibly high traffic, Hermes (http://www.alixoft.com/software/hermes.htm) works well, and is free. You'll want to install it as a service, you can find instructions for doing so here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q137890. Another option is to migrate to Win2000/IIS 5.0. www.zope.org -> does it use CMF?

Which product is used for www.zope.org? CMF? I never had a detailed look on CMF by now, that's why I ask. I need some kind of document management system (main requirements: WebDav access, indexing MS Office and PDF documents). Are there any products available? Juergen -- plasser(a)hexagon.at

When I use python scripts created under Zope 2-3-1, I get an informational message: PROBLEM (100) Script (Python) Object "my_script_name" needs to be recompiled. ... Is that why my code written in Zope 2-3-1 doesn't work properly in Zope 2-4-3? If so, how do I recompile? Thanks in advance, Ron

Hello I don't know how the following relates to the pinging argument but: Did you add the ip adress of the e-mail server in the hosts file of your NT machine? you can find it here: c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Otherwise the dns of your company is thinking that you are using the e-mail server for relaying illegally, and this is forbidden by your computer police department. This is not straightforward for a file, and esp. not a zope thing/problem. By default, the browser uses the tail of a URI to construct the filename for saving. Additionally, most browser honor a http-header which looks like Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="filename.ext" which would cause the "save as" box to display "filename.ext" as filename. Now we need to get zope to return this header for an object of type file. Fortunately, a file has a property called "precondition". We use that to call a python script to set the right header. So put the following line in a python script above your files in the hierachy: context.REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Disposition','attachment; filename=' + context.title) call it "setheader" and use setheader as precondition for your files. cheers, oliver ------------------------------------------------------- where can i find information about setting precondition for files ?? i tried to search on the zope.org but its useless. hi all, I am currently using the MailHost product in zope to send automatic e-mails from my Zope site, via the companies e-mail server. This was working perfectly on my own machine(Win 98), but when the site was moved onto an NT server I've started getting the following error, without a traceback.. Error Type: SMTPHeloError Error Value: (501, 'Invalid domain name') Does anybody know what causes this. The server name I've used is correct,and I am able to ping it from my NT server. Creating a class in a python script

If I put the code... class myErrorClass: element_number = -1 ... and then later... an_Error = myErrorClass() return an_Error ... I get an error message when the custom class is instantiated and/or returned. Can I not create classes within a python script? Thanks in advance, Ron
