One caution, make sure you have validated that the user has inputted a correct date before doing the above. Otherwise you will get error messages. Personally, I use javascript to validate date fields *before* the user submits the form; saves me a lot of headaches. Overriding "title"

I have a ZClass with a DTML method called "title" which computes a title for an instance based on the value of another property. Almost everything seems to work fine...I can use the title attribute in my standard_html_header, the computed title shows up correctly on the management screen. But calling title_or_id on one of these instances raises a KeyError. Is this expected behavior or a bug? Zope 2.3.0 on Linux. thanks, -- Tim Moore

Hi! I have 2 more questions on DTML (sorry, but the reference isn't really comprehensive) (1) i want to list the contents of a folder and do more complex sorting than just sort=id: <dtml-in "PARENTS[0].objectValues(['DTML Document','Folder'])" sort="id, meta_type" > BUT: i want to sort meta_type in reverse order (to have the folders on top), and the id in "normal" order. is that possible? how? change LocalFS icons?

Hi all, how can I change the icons which are displayed by LocaFS? I use ZOPE 2.24 with Python 1.52, Win98. Just changing the icons in the products "www"-directory worked for folders but not for file-types (PDF, DOC). any hints are very much apprechiated! -georg.rellensmann-

I suppose that you would set up a "proxy" object (just use a ZClass) instance somewhere in the ODB that has a method that represented external data scraped from the web via an external method and http client libraries in python. I assume this woulr work? sendmail policy enforcement

I do not allow my users to create Mail Hosts, but I have a Mail Host object available in the root for everyone to use. Right now, I even allow Anonymous to use it (so that users don't need to turn on proxy roles anytime they want to send mail.) I wonder if this is a risk, though. Can non-users (authors) get to my system (via XML-RPC?) and send mail this way? I'm also concerned about setting sender information for the outgoing mail. I'd like to always use the ID of the owner of the calling method as the sender. Is this something I can do already with a standard Mail Host? Should/Could I do this by modifying Mail Host or is it likely that this functionality might be standard soon. Is there another way that I should consider? Thank you. --kyler
