OT: Upgrading postgresql

I'm gonna bite the bullet and upgrade to the 7.0.x branch of postgresql (from 6.5.3) on a production server. Has anybody done this already and have some pointer, especially with regards to keeping the ZPygresqlDA product working?

Zope dumping core

Hello! I am runing zope 2.2.5 on a Solaris box, and it is dumping core (suspect: SQL MEthods with oracle, FTP server). I am using it in conjunction with oracle. Could this be the culprit? Any help is appreciated. If we cannot get Zope to be stable we'll have to abandon it; this is not on my list of preferred actions, but we have very little in zope at the moment, jet it is unstable. We'll soon need to start moving to production and more heavy testing. DC: what do you charge for technical support? Contact me off list, please. Do any of you have any hints on how to track down the source of the failing. AFAIK I have set up everything to log as much as possible, but there is no hint of anythin in the logs. Also I don't know how to read the logs. I'll poke around the sources, but if anyone has some info they'd like to share, i'd appreciate it a lot. I guess software is considered stable if no one who was testing it (with with zope I guess is a LOT of people) found problems which could not be put down to there configuration. You are assuming your system (i.e. your computer/os) is perfect. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but yust because software douse not work for YOU dose not mean that it is the softwares fault. Also I should point out that just cos you spend megabuks on software dose not mean it is stable. Users of free software are usually keeping in touch with authors using maillists and newsgroups. BTW, I had a lot of minor problems with Zope (especially with Copy/Paste), and I thought (although never couldn't prove it) that SiteAccess is a part of the problem. After installing 2.3 all my problems gone away (at least I think "all" - I didn't do extensive test; but Copy/Paste certainly work much better for me). 2.3.0 really not Beta?

I installed 2.3.0 today and since then the Zope installation is gone away sometimes. Before I had 2.2.2 and 2.2.5 installed without any problems for MONTHS!!!!! 2.3.0 seems to be a little unstable for now, and I think I will return back to 2.2.5 again. There are other problems with SiteRoot which worked like a champ for months under 2.2.5. I don't understand why it can be declared as 'stable' with such behaving. Had a play with this and I think the time refures to the main object (i.e. the one the UTL is pointing to).
