Hello, I found some strange behaviours while trying to develop an application with Zope 2.3.0 (src dist, on RedHat Linux 6.0). - when I try to change the attributes of a user, the password and confirm form fields contain the strings "password" and "confirm" respectively, instead of the real password - cut'ting objects from folders doesn't update the display (i.e. the cut' objects are still visible. they disappear after pasting to another folder) - when I create Product and add an object (e.g. DTML file) and add a proxy role, I can't take that proxy role away. The management interfaces says that at least one role must be selected. - when I create Product and add an object (e.g. DTML file) and try to change security settings, e.g. try to map "Access contents information" to "Access contents information" I get the following error message on submit: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: too many arguments; expected 2, got 3 ( File /opt2/Zope-2.3.0-src/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 112, in call_object (Object: manage_setPermissionMapping) File /opt2/Zope-2.3.0-src/lib/python/AccessControl/PermissionMapping.py, line 150, in manage_setPermissionMapping (Object: index_html)) right now I don't have an idea how to fix these problems .. Security: acl_users' passwds encrypted?

Hi, all. Just a quick question I can't find the answer to... When the user is prompted by Zope to login (user defined role, limited page access, etc.), are the username and password sent from the client to the Zope server in clear text or are they encrypted somehow? Thanks in advance. -Gary

DCOracle Install Problem

I have been setting up DCOracle 1.3.2 on my Solaris 2.6 box with Zope 2.2.5. I can get the librarys to compile and even tested them with the python script included with success. I add the DCOracle to the lib/python/Products directory and then placed the two libs in there and restarted zope. I go to control panel and the DCOracle product shows up and isn't broken, but when I go to the root and try to add a ZOracle Connection it isn't even avalible in the pulldown menu. I have tried the exact same thing with Zope 2.3.0 and got the same result. Am I missing something here? Thanks, Calvin

ZCatalog + Virtual Hosting = Trouble

It seems a well established fact that ZCatalog does not work properly with virtual hosting. Problems with Queries after reinstalling

All, I'm trying to reinstall Zope on a new machine. I'm using Windows NT 4.0 with IIS and pcgi. I have it successfully installed and serving pages but anytime I try to call a page that runs a query I get an error. If I go to the management interface and test the queries they return the data I expect but when I try to call the query from inside code it doesn't work. Any suggestions? Multi Language Zope SIte

Hi, In my spare time I'm making a new page for my university class. But we want a multi-language site. What's the best way to do that on Zope? I'm thinking about create a translation folder with all the text from the site. With every frase is a DTML Method like: <dtml-if "SESSION['lang']=='pt_BR'> Como vai você? <dtml-elif "SESSION['lang']=='en_US'> How are you? </drml-if> The other way I figure out is just to create one page in English and another in Portuguese... But the page is very dynamic and if I do this when I change something in one version I will need to change in the other too.. I use a *LOT* of Ext Methods, that's why I dont want to do this and we are planning to translate the page to spanish, duth and italian too... There I pay for software and it isn't stable anyway. I don't think that the people of DC think the same like you. They are interested in a stable and working Zope, and therefore their support on this list is professional and perfect. Of course Zope is not open source only because of philantropic thoughts. There should not only be the fact, that it is free, but also the fact, that a declaration of 'stable' really is trustable. OK, let's say 2.3.0 is really stable. What is the difference, which made Zope go away on my redhat server? Is there anything different in installing 2.3.0 than 2.2.5? Geting objects from user

I know you can give users access the zope inteface so they can move files from there local file system into zope but is there a way of including this in a zope application (i.e. I have my own form I which a user to be able to do this from). DynPersist for Win2K
