There are some factors which need to be taken into account and which are very project specific. - ten thousand hits a day are in most cases not distributed uniformly across the day. For instance we have a site which gets hit like hell when people come into their offices in the morning, - Response time matters. We are working on a zope project where all menus are built dynamically by iterating through zclasses in a folder. Everything is quite modular. When benchmarking this on a relativly slow (PII-350 + 64mb) Server I got 4 hits a second, *but* max. answer times between 1 and 2 seconds. - There's the possibility of using a reverse proxy. I configured apaches mod proxy with the above mentioned setup and got 500 hits/second on the same hardware. But this kind of caching my not always be feasible. cheers, oliver

hasRole is just there to confuse... use: _.SecurityGetUser().has_role('Manager', index_html) instead. page templates!?

forgive my ignorance, but I do not obtain to make my templates to function. template does not read the data of the master template. Performance and Server Requirements

I'm looking for information on Zope performance and server hardware needs. I need info on what size of site and volume of traffic can be handled by Zope and at what point it is recommended to go up to ZEO. I'd also like good recommendations on specs for a Linux server to host a Zope Web site. Thanks, Chris

alternative to manage_addZSQLMethod...

Hi all, I tried this expression <dtml-call "Config.manage_addZSQLMethod('create_table','','zopadelic','','create table zopista (col_a integer, col_b integer)')"> But I was returned an "AttributeError" It seems that the method manage_addZSQLMethod doesn't exist. Problem with FTP

Hello, i can't use Zope with most FTP-clients. User 'Sepperl' has manager-roles and all rights. What im dooing wrong? absent variables

Hello all in, I meet problem, may be somebody can help me. I try to send results of filled form thought dtml-method (proxy of course), but user can don't fill some input values. When I submit form with unchecked checkbox (name favorite) I receive error: Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: ['favorite'] How i can create default values for favorite?
