hello i'm not sure whether this is a proper thing to do, but here goes i jsut made myself a python product that grabs a page, and return a list of items; depending on a few regular expression patterns. any kind soul could spare a few minutes to look and comment on my codes? what i missed out, what should be done, etc http://www.kedai.com.my/dll/KebasData.tar.gz tia p/s - no docs as yet since this is still in testing phase

PUT_factory to create ZWikiPage by default - help

Following the advice of Dieter Maurer and Tres Seaver I am trying to use PUT_factory to override the default object type and create a ZWikiPage when I create a page by ange-ftp. Because I am a zope and python newbie, I am having some trouble. I will detail what I did in hope that someone can offer me some guidance 1) Created a 'Python (Script)' object in my Wiki folder and named it PUT_factory with empty 'Parameter List'. This may be part of my problem; what is the parameter list for PUT_factory? This doesn't seem to be working on my 2.3.1 build, running either with or without -D. If I try to get an unauthorized error (for example, /manage, then press cancel), I get the ugly page from ZPublisher. No bugfixes from final beta?!

Zope via IIS: How does ASPN do it?

There have been recent questions about routing Zope requests through IIS. ActiveState has a way of doing it for ASPN and I would like to know how. I have noticed (by snooping with Proxomitron) that a request to http://www.activestate.com is served by IIS 5.0. Here is some stuff from Proxomitron's log window: HTTP/1.0 200 OK Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Content-Location: http://www.activestate.com/index.html Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 00:48:31 GMT Content-Type: text/html However, when I request http://www.activestate.com/ASPN the request is served by Zope: HTTP/1.0 200 OK Server: Zope/Zope 2.3.0 (binary release, python 1.5.2, win32-x86) ZServer/1.1b1 Date: Thu, 19 Apr 2001 00:51:33 GMT Content-Type: text/html (The second line is wrapped.) The only widely-available information on Zope via IIS is Brian Hooper's How-To (http://www.zope.org/Members/brianh/iis_howto) but that relies on setting a Windows extension .pcgi to trigger use of PCGI. ActiveState doesn't do that as far as I can tell. Maybe there is some feature of IIS 5.0 I have missed. IIS with Zserver on NT

Hi I would like to know the possibility of having IIS as the webserver for my zope 2.3.1 on NT instead of the default Zserver. Can someone give reference or step by step instructions for implementing the same? I remember the usage of ProxyPass/SiteRoot on Linux with apache as the webserver instead of Zserver. TypeError in TransparentFolderPatch

After exporting/importing/copying a folder (say: xyzzy) around, which itself contains a transparent folder, from one Zope installation to another I'm plagued by the following error message which is quoted below. Error Type: TypeError Error Value: illegal argument type for built-in operation The error happenes when I try to import the xyzzy.zexp into the root folder of the target zope. Importing xyzzy.zexp into an arbitrary subfolder (say: t) works, but then the very same error occurs when trying to copy/paste t/xyzzy to where it belongs: to the root. Any ideas? I haven't read through TransparentFolderPatch enough in order to understand what it is trying to do here. hi, if any of you have had experience with this, some sort of pointers or a link to the appropriate how-to would be most appreciated. we are running zope 2.3.n with mysql 2.23.n (where n is i'm not sure the exact port). there is some sort of practical limit on the size of a file that mysql can insert (it's somewhere around 16MB), although a largeblob data type should be able to hold over a gig. [blob is binary large object, a datatype in MySQL] using a shell script i can get a large file to split into 5MB chuncks and then creating a set of part numbers, insert these (via the mysql++) api into the database. a second script can retrieve these and recombine them. so, my question is, how can i get zope to do this? two tables will be involved: 1. object identifiers. containing object_id (a unique, auto_incrementing number) size in bytes 2. object blob storage. id (unique auto_increment) object_id (identical to object_id above) object_pt bfile (the blob data). in my calling method, i would do something like (this is pseudo code). <dtml-in object> <dtml-call (obj_pt, object_pt)> <dtml-call EM.load_blob> // python does all the work based on the object_id value passed in // </dtml-in> i am very low on python skills, so, since i cannot know how many parts a file will contain until i start to fetch how can i write the python script to iterate the number of loops to get all the pieces back out. would for xx in [object_pt] work? if so, does xx start at 0, or can i set it to start at 1 (this would determine the values i put into the blob datafile in the first place)? i've been told this can be done, but i've not tracked down any examples of it. any help will be greatly appreciated. ciao! greg. dns(?) question

I have an internal linux machine running zope and a freebsd firewall running ipnat/ipfilter, dns, and apache. I would like to set zope up so that a) people can access it, and b) so that people can just type in "zope.silentcooperative.com" and have it redirected to the proper machine. I don't want to use mod_proxy, squid, transproxy or apache at all for that matter for the redirection. Can I do this in DNS in conjunction with NAT or is there a low overhead suggestions for doing this??? thanks, chris
