Hello all, I'm trying to tackle the Zoo GuestBook example from the Zope book: http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/SimpleExamples.dtml I've got it all working except the last part in the AddEntry python script. I now have Zope 2.3.1 installed on my ISP's system. The script craters on the first line which reads: """ Create a guest book entry. Zope and ActivePython 2.0

Is it possible for Zope 2.3.1 (Win32 distribution) to function with ActivePython 2.0 build 203. I am desperately trying to get 'Perl for Zope' up and running using ActiveState's latest pyperl 1.0.1 and zoperl 1.0 beta 5 (I don't have a C compiler and don't want to have to go through the earlier incantations with python 1.5.2 and distutils - because I am full of 'Laziness'). I have tried various Python installations, modifying start.bat to point to the correct Python installation and path and registry hacks. In every case where I try to point Zope to the Python 2.0 installation I get a start-up error that tells me that the version of Python I am trying to load is inconsistent with the python15.dll (even though python20.dll exists in the win32 folder). I am still relatively new to the ways of Zope, but I fail to see in any core python scripts where there is any hard-wiring going on. All Zope'd up and no where to go....

(no subject)

I am a real Zope newbie so bear with me. I am attempting to re-setup an ODBC connection in Zope (that used to work until a fatal hard drive failure) to access a Visual FoxPro database and get the following error: sql.error: ('S0002', 173, "[Microsoft] [ODBC Visual Foxpro Driver]File 'users.dbf' does not exist.") There are multiple tables and it cannot find any of them. The database connection within Zope shows it is open successfully. Particulars: NT WS 4.0 SP3 Zope 2.2.4 ODBCDA Visual Foxpro database is on a Novell 4.11 server As I stated above, this used to work until the hard drive blew and I had to reload NT and Zope and reloaded the data.fs file from the backup. It turns out only the data.fs file was being backed up nightly. The database connection says it is open, but we can't process any queries. Thanks for any assistance. Mike McConnell

problem saving file twice using ange-ftp

I am using ange-ftp in GNU emacs to edit my Zope ZWiki pages. This works fine, but when I try and save a page for a second time, I get the error Opening output file: FTP Error: "426 Error creating file.", /myuser(a)nitace.bsd.uchicago.edu 8021:/Wikis/April/FrontPage If I kill the buffer and then reenter it again, I am allowed to modify and save it only one time. This way, it could be used easily be FTP. I am not sure about WebDAV, as it uses the source port and I am not sure whether AccessRules are executed for these traversals. Your instances are not images but collections of three images. I would expect, they derive from an Object Manager not from an Image. Dieter

ZClass / BaseClass OFS:Image

Hi I'd like to make a ZClass based on the OFS:Image Baseclass ... unfortunately I don't get it working. The basic Idee is to have a Object containing 3 Images (Thumbnail, Normal, Large) + some extra attributes like "shortdescription", "description". The object should know (in attributes) the size, high and width for all the images. Unfortunately as soon as I add the OFS:Image Baseclass I don't get a working ZClass ... And I haven't found a example with a zclass based on ZImage. All the other products I looked to (like JPicture or ActiveImage) isn't really helping. Is there anybody who can help me? I'm really desperate, cause it's bloody urgent ... Thanks a lot in advance. Kind Regards Stefan Mallepell
