problem saving file twice with ange-ftp

I am using ange-ftp under GNU-emacs to edit my Zwiki Web in emacs-wiki-mode and am encountering a strange problem. If I edit a page, I can save the changes *one time only*. After that, I get an error 426 from the ftp server: Opening output file: FTP Error: "426 Error creating file.", /jdh2358(a)nitace.bsd.uchicago.edu 8021:/Wikis/April/FrontPage Mark set [2 times] If I kill the buffer and reload it, I can again make changes to it 1 time, and get the error after subsequent save attempts. External Methods nightmare

Hi, i'm new to External Methods, and i got the following prob. In folder FOLDER a got 3 method A (dtml) B (Zsql) and C ( external ) the story is that method A call method B. From zope there is no prob. with that but when i call A from C, zope complains that it can't find B. I't seems that Zope forget that it is in FOLDER. Please HELP!!! Please be more specific. Inside methodA you should be able to call methodB like this: <dtml-call methodB> Inside methodC you should be able to call methodC like this: self.methodA() By the magic of acquisision, this should work. Javaapplet replacing ZMI navtree?

Look at this for example. http://www.spigots.com/outline.htm Has anybody successfully tried to replace the nav tree in the ZMI with an applet like this. I can see a great use for it. Especially, if you like me do a lot of work on a slow modem connection. This applet can be loaded in once and then you have it there. Alternativly you load the old navtree by default and if you decide to stay in the ZMI for a while, you click to load in the java applet. Or perhaps somebody's managed to successfully replace it with a good little javascript?? Future directions? Peter

problem with lines properties

Hi everyone, I've built a couple ZClasses that utilize a "lines" property that, when an instance of the class is viewed, is rendered as a <ul>. The problem is that when the instance is first viewed, the iteration through the lines property doesn't work correctly and I get a one-item <ul> with all the lines rendered in the same <li>. Strangely, if I visit the ZMI edit screen for the instance and click on "Save Changes" then the instance displays perfectly every time after that. You can do this in one ZSQL Method - like this example ... The table tune_name has a unique key on tune_name_id, this value is generated when a row is inserted because there is a sequence defined as follows CREATE SEQUENCE "tune_name_tune_name_id_seq" start 15 increment 1 maxvalue 21474 83647 minvalue 1 cache 1 and tune_name.tune_name_id is defined as "tune_name_id" int4 DEFAULT nextval('tune_name_tune_name_id_seq'::text) NOT NULL, So the ZSQL Method looks like this INSERT INTO tune_name (tune_name, search_name, user_id) VALUES ( <dtml-sqlvar "cap_names(tune_name)" type=string>, <dtml-sqlvar search_name type=string>, <dtml-sqlvar user_id type=int>) <dtml-var sql_delimiter> INSERT INTO tune_x_name (tune_id, tune_name_id, user_id) SELECT <dtml-sqlvar tune_id type=int>, currval('tune_name_tune_name_id_seq'), <dtml-sqlvar user_id type=int> FROM users WHERE <dtml-sqltest user_id type=int> <dtml-var sql_delimiter> The second insert (INTO tune_x_name) gets the current value tune_name_tune_name_id_seq as that is the value of tune_name_id which has been written to the table tune_name. The only way I know to get at this value though is within a SELECT statement so I have made a dummy SELECT on the table 'users' which I am certain will return one, and only one row. When I ported this to MySQL there was no currval function so I coded the same thing as follows (again tune_name.tune_name_id is a unique key value generated when a row is inserted into tune_name - it is defined as tune_name_id int4 NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY,) LOCK TABLES tune_name WRITE, tune_x_name WRITE <dtml-var sql_delimiter> INSERT INTO tune_name (tune_name, search_name, user_id) VALUES ( <dtml-sqlvar "cap_names(tune_name)" type=string>, <dtml-sqlvar search_name type=string>, <dtml-sqlvar user_id type=int>) <dtml-var sql_delimiter> INSERT INTO tune_x_name (tune_id, tune_name_id, user_id) SELECT <dtml-sqlvar tune_id type=int>, MAX(tune_name_id), <dtml-sqlvar user_id type=int> FROM tune_name <dtml-var sql_delimiter> UNLOCK TABLES Which I guess would work just as well with PostgreSQL but I haven't tried it. Hi Can anybody tell me why the following code is never get into the "if Bit" of the condition? Even when "absolute_url" and "PageUrl" are really 100% identicly ....
