No SiteRoots are currently defined. If I access the URL www.endsound.com/z, I correctly land in the root Zope directory, but none of the generated links work since they are missing the /z/. It seems like the biggest clue is that zope is looking for a resource called _vh_zope rather than just using it for the URL generation. I'm not a python programmer, but I don't mind getting my hands dirty if there is source around to debug. Thanks again! Lars

Can Zope act as an XML capable http client?

Zopistas, The subject line says it.. I am trying to connect up to a legacy FileMaker system which can act as a web server, serving up generic HTTP content. I'd like to structure the templates so that this content is available on the web in XML format. Can I use Zope to connect to this DB and download the XML via regular HTTP, and then parse it? Id like to then be able to write it to *my* database using a ZSQL method.. Is this feasible? -Chris

Unfortunately, this doesn't work from a PythonScript (can't use _setId, etc), only external methods. I am trying to do the same thing, trying to port the technique (calling the ZClass constructor add method) from the dtml version, but I can't seem to get it right... anybody have any thoughts? It seems to be very difficult to get a consistently failing test case, but easier with the DB adaptor. That said, how about this: http://blacklotus.cc.ic.ac.uk/~pjm3/bug2.zexp Seems to suffer from the same problem, and has *no* dependencies (doesn't need a database or any products). Simply import it, hammer the /HDB/showmachine_html url without a ?machineid=whatever, it seems ok, hammer it *with* the argument, it fails. I did what you told me, but the method assumed the context of the file wich called it. Like this: myserver/ myserver/arvore_dtml myserver/dir_restrict/calls_dtml myserver/dir1/ myserver/dir2/ myserver/arq_x I`m calling the arvore_dtml(code you sent) from calls_dtml, but I want to list files and dirs from myserver. What is happening is that it is listing from dir_restrict. Did I make something wrong? Bye. This is the configuration that I started with and you are correct that it DOES work. The problem is that all Zope generated URLs that are embedded in the emitted HTML are of the http://my.org:8080/ variety, rather than the http://my.org/zope variety. This means that I need to keep port 8080 open on my firewall, loose the nice portless URLs, and stop proxying requests through my Apache server and its request logger.
