ZSQL: Insert a result from a sql query

Hello, I am trying to insert a result from a sql query into another query I am selecting 1+max(ordernum) from a table as newordernum and then tries to insert this into a table. I call the sql method like this: <dtml-call expr="sqlAddNewClip(ordernum=newordernum)"> but keeps getting an error: Error Type: NameError Error Value: newordernum Please .. Apache virtual host combined with Zope

I've found several How-To's and other documents on the use of Zope with Apache virtual hosts, but can't figure out what the state of the art at this moment is. We've got an apache webserver with several virtual host entries (version 1.3.9). I want to start using Zope for (part of) one of the virtual hosts. I'v downloaded version 2.3.1. of Zope. My question consist of these three parts: 1) Should I use Zope.cgi, PCGI, the virtual-host-monster or any other sollution? 2) Do I need additional software? 3) And where can I find documentation about this/these sollution(s). Thanks for the response, but I haven't found it useful. I tried LoginManager, but got a Header Error trying to unpack it. I tried GenericUserFolder, but get an error message trying to created a GUF Object (is it compatible with the latest ZOPE release?) and I'm not skilled enough yet to try and debug and edit a package like that. I couldn't identify anything else that seemed relevant. Has anyone accomplished the task of using an outside DB to provide ZOPE security at the file level? If so, what did you do? I am also running zope server on win 2000 . I see exactly the same problem It must be a common problem . I am new to zope hence I am also looking for solution to optimize the server. It has the most stuff in it using ODBC to connect to access databases and some MySQL activity is happening on the server also. The Python process for this server is only utilizing only about 50% of the processor recourses but this is steady. It also climbs up to 200K+ in memory usage. I am more than willing to answer any questions you may need to help me figure out what is going on here. ProxyPass: How to get around it.

The idea: I have a site (http://dd.gerf.org/) which works great, it's zope, and it uses ProxyPass (because I have a lot of virtual hosts). However, the bug tracking system I want to use (because I didn't find any good zope ones) requires PHP. So I have it set up as /bugs. But Alias isn't working. I found a page that mentions that you can try to punch a hole using additional proxypass settings, but since this is a virtual (CNAME) host, not a separate IP address, I can't use localhost or some such. And if I say: ProxyPass /bugs http://dd.gerf.org/bugs I get an infinite loop. I tried moving it over to http://gerf.org/~nick/bugs, but that'd require a whole rewrite of the php scripts as they call PHP commands to ask Apache it's host name, which ends up being gerf.org, which is wrong. So, all I want is an Alias that can punch a hole in my ProxyPass. Ciao! -- A computer scientist is someone who fixes things that aren't broken. I too have a need for this. We have sample URLs from a group offering data to us. They are basically standard URLs with various arguments attached to the ends. The data returned is all tab delimited text and not structured at all on the browser. A quick view source shows all the field names at the top with a <COLUMNS> field1, field2, etc. </COLUMNS> and then the data values as <DATA> value1, value2, etc. </DATA> I have been told the result of the query is a pure XML stream and need an XML parser to be able to use it. Will ParsedXML handle this? Is it relatively straightforward to use? I tried installing on a Win98 test Zope 2.3.1 and got a variety of errors and have not had time to go back to it. I will hang up and listen now... Hi there, If I type for example "<" in the title property of a DTML Document, it is showed as "<" when I valid the property form. If I do the same with a Folder, it is rendered as "<", which is the normal and safe behaviour (and is the behaviour of 1.2.x versions). I'm using the 2.3.1b1 version of Zope. Any clues ?
