ZShellCLI and potential external method problem in Zope 2.3.2

Hi, I've tried to run Andy McKay's ZShellCLI, and all I can say is: It's Very Nice ! (tm) However before running it successfully I encountered a problem, because he had modified my ZShell external method to add a parameter to it and Zope seemed to be unable to detect this modification even when restarting it (tried several times). In fact I just replaced my zshell.py file with his one and restarted Zope, but this didn't work because I always received 'too many parameters' errors. I had to delete the ZShell external method from the ZMI, then recreate it and it worked fine then. is it normal ? Is it a known Zope (2.3.2) problem ? thanks in advance. 2.3.2 ZCatalog bug?

Weird stuff: Do extremely long strings for field-indexes break ZCatalog? I tried creating a field index of 80 characters of text, and noted the following: - sort_on won't work for that field - searching on another UNRELATED index (a TextIndex) resulted in fewer matches than before I added this long field index. Note: I noted the second issue after reindexing (updating) the catalog; I changed my code so that I truncated the field (the one indexed) to 10 characters in the python code, instead of 80. sort_on seemed to work ok, and a bunch more matches showed up. string module

I have a method what from a "MULTIPART FORM" put a file named 'myFile.pdf' in a directory. And after i want the methood to create a Zclass instance[PDFclass] whith id=myFile. Nonprofits using Zope?

We are talking to a nonprofit organization about using Zope for their content management needs. They wanted to know what other nonprofits were using Zope. I searched zope.org and the Zope mailing lists and found only two mentions of nonprofit organizations. I know there must be more people in nonprofits using Zope. Anyone know of nonprofits using Zope? On a related note, I think the "Zope powered links" section of the Zope site should be updated. I think people would be interested to know that cbsnewyork.com and greenpeace.org use Zope. Getting the id of a DTML Document/Method in Python

Hi all, I'm trying to write an external method that will loop through all my DTML Documents, and return only objects that match a certain criteria (based on its id). Instead of the id, my External Method returns: [<Python Method object at 83df298>, <Python Method object at 86e9ba8>] whith the following sample code: --- def LinkGenerator(self): objlist=[] for obj in self.objectValues('DTML Document'): objlist.append(obj.id) return objlist --- If I change the self.objectValues('DTML Document') into self.objectValues('Folder'), obj.id returns the correct id: ['folder1', 'folder2', 'folder3'] I've tested a few objectValues, and as far as I can tell it is only DTML Documents and DTML Methods that does not return the id correctly. How can I get to the id of a DTML Document/Method when looping through the objectValues() ? Ultimately I want to do this: def LinkGenerator(self): import re objlist=[] for obj in self.objectValues('DTML Document'): res=re.search('^link', obj.id) if res: objlist.append(obj) return objlist And then use DTML to loop through the resulting objectlist: <dtml-in LinkGenerator> <a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a><br> </dtml-in> Thanks a lot, Andreas.

Look at the Zope Quick Reference for more information on this formatting variables, some of them DO use the locale settings defined above. You can control what you get on date formatting with strftime(). Hope this helps. Apache & Domain User Problem

We are trying to add a new user into our acl_users folder which includes a domain criteria to prevent people from logging into Zope from outwith our network. As we are using Apache, all traffic to our site comes through Apache and therefore all access seems to come through the same IP address. This is making it impossible for us to restrict access to a specific domain. Syntax.

hi, I just learnt a craxy bit of syntax today. It was how to get the last modified date out of an object. I would never have found that if it was not for this list.
